Telly show Khoobsurat inspired by Saajan?

If sources are to be believed, the new television show Khoobsurat is inspired by Bollywood's 90s blockbuster film Saajan.
The promo is a giveaway of sorts, where the protagonist ( Saumya Seth) is seen to be in love with someone she has never seen.
According to the production house, the audition of that particular character was done on the basis of his voice. "During the casting, our main criterion was an expressive voice. As it was an RJ, the character was required to have a strong, expressive voice," says producer Sumeet Mittal.
When TOI quizzed the show's makers on whether the show is inspired by the Sanjay Dutt-Salman Khan-Madhuri Dixit film, the producer says, "Whenever there is show on TV, it is often compared with Bollywood. If my show is compared to Saajan, which was a super hit film, I am happy."
