Rude khatirdari for Nawab Shah

TV actor Nawab Shah (Mansen Goenka of Saarrthi on Star Plus) had a nightmarish experience in Gurgaon (on the outskirts of Delhi) on Monday.

A group of villagers attacked Nawab while he was heading to a nightclub along with his friends Saket and Aziz. The actor was there to celebrate Eid with his friends and relatives.

Nawab did not suffer serious injuries since he immediately drove off to seek help. But his friend Saket had to be admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi. Aziz, too, has suffered a broken arm.

Nawab's real grouse is against the patrolling cops whom he met on the way. He says that instead of helping him, they mocked him and even abused him.

Horror tale

Soon after the incident, Nawab narrated the incident to HiTLIST from Apollo Hospital. He said, "I am absolutely shocked. It all began when we were in Gurgaon. I was talking to a Sardarji, who said he was my fan.

While we were conversing, a group of villagers came running and began beating us mercilessly. We have still not been able to figure out why they attacked us in that manner. The mob consisted of at least 25 people."

Shah said that her immediately ran to the safety of the car (a Toyota model) and decided to get some help.

He said, "I met some patrolling cops on the way and told them about our ordeal. First, they said Gurgaon was not under their jurisdiction. Then, instead of helping me, they started making fun of me and even abused me with the choicest expletives. They also told me that since I act in a TV show, I should dance for them. They then took me to the police station."

Nawab had to call the SSP to avoid further humiliation. "The police officials apologised, but while leaving the patrolling cops again ridiculed him. It was terrible and a very humiliating experience."

Nawab added that while he was arguing with the patrolling cops, an electronic media person walked up to them and demanded to know what the commotion was all about.

"But he, too, started abusing me. I don't know what to do. I never thought that cops could be like this," he said. Nawab is returning to Mumbai in a day or two to resume shooting for Saarrthi.
