Chapter 3

Khushi Kumari Gupta's cabin was above the staff floor. She had long windows which could be opened fully. She kept an eye on her staff through these open windows. Khushi never liked her staff slacking or wasting precious time.

Dressed in her red pencil skirt and cream blouse Khushi sat in her chair waiting for Payal to ring her for her next appointment planned.

Her office phone rang.

"Yes Payal?"

"Mam Mr Arnav Singh Raizada is here".

"Okay send him in".

Khushi swivelled her chair to connect her iphone 5 charger.

"Morning Ms Gupta" the voice said in a stylish sexy way. Khushi scrunched her eyebrows. She knew this voice but could not put her finger on it as to who it was. Curiously she quickly swivelled her chair back to the front.

Taking a step forward to shake her hand, ASR stopped.

"What the!" he said looking totally miffed.

Khushi looked on despicably. Remembering their first encounter she registered her feeling towards him and then raised her eyebrows in arrogance.

"The world is really small isn't it?"

Arnav Singh Raizada stood there meeting his female version in front of him. He had not ever dreamt that he will be speechless.

"Get out of my office!" she barked at him.

Arnav Singh Raizada arched his eyebrow and folded his arms defensively. He was amused that a WOMAN was giving him attitude which he usually gave to others.

"Did you not hear me GET OUT!" she half yelled making her feelings clear.

He began walking towards her with a smug look.

"I heard you but I was sent by your father Mr Gupta...he wanted me to help you organise this new fashion show".

Khushi squinted her eyes and shook her head in disapproval. She began walking obnoxiously towards him.

"Oh no you don't! Mr Gupta likes to show his kindness to people like you but I do not let anyone have a job in my company other than merit. People like you have no place in Khushi Kumari Gupta's office...understand? You better understand!"

She clicked her finger and pointed at him.

As she walked up to him he began to walk backwards bamboozled by her dictatorship behaviour. As soon as he reached the end of the cabin she continued her onslaught.

"So Mr Arnav Singh Raizada do I need to still spell it out that your so called help is not needed?"

Arnav decided he wanted to leave as this woman was too feisty for his liking. As he was about to walk forward he rolled back and slipped slightly from the open window. Khushi quickly gave her hand to him. She grabbed hold of his hand while he looked back slightly tilted.

"So Arnav Singh Raizada say sorry for your behaviour that day and I will pull you back" she said with a jubilant look.

"WHAT THE! NEVER" He said determined to not let this woman win.

"Think carefully...say sorry"

"I rather fall" he said with determination.

"Fine" she said calmly. "Your choice!" she let go of his hand and he dropped on the cardboard boxes that were placed below.

Khushi looked on defiantly from her window.

"No one messes with Khushi Kumari Gupta, understand? You better understand!"

"WHAT THE HELL!" he grit his teeth and got up.

"Khushi Kumari Gupta you should be glad I don't raise my hand on women...you will regret your actions...I promise you that!"

Switching his Bluetooth on he made his way out. As he drove off he remembered how he had met Mr Gupta.

***Flashback***

Arnav had gone to a mutual friend's party.

"Hi I'm Arnav Singh Raizada"

He extended his hand towards Mr Gupta.

"Hi beta I heard a lot about you..."

"I hope it is all good" he said awkwardly.

"Yes...I am a big fan of yours...I always wanted to have an opportunity to work with you"

"Really? Mr Gupta your company is the biggest in India...anyone would find it an honour to work with you"

Mr Gupta liked the persona of this young man. He was known for being damn rude attitude but for some odd reason they clicked in their first meeting. Taking a card of his pocket Mr Gupta gave to Arnav.

"Beta I am in a hurry today as I got a conference to attend...but make a call to meet my daughter...we need your help"

"Sure" he said respecting this elder.

***Flashback ended***

He drove towards the Gupta house and slammed his brakes.

"MR GUPTA!"

He came out of his bedroom hearing someone yell his name.

"Arnav what a pleasant surprise...did you meet my daughter?"

"Yes I did!" he gritted his teeth.

"And did she give you the project?"

"NO...BUT SHE PUSHED ME OFF HER CABIN!"

"What are you saying?" Mr Gupta looked on puzzled.

"You heard Mr Gupta...if she was not your daughter, Arnav Singh Raizada would have taught her a lesson...your daughter is so unbearable that I can't put up with her let alone working with her"

"But I ...okay one minute"

Mr Gupta made a call to Khushi.

"Khushi what am I hearing...? You pushed Arnav Singh Raizada down your cabin?"

"Dad...I hate him.."

"Listen Khushi I am not listening to anything you say...Mr Arnav will work on this project because I feel he is the best...and my word is final.."

Arnav looked on while Mr Gupta put the phone down.

"Sorry beta...I apologise on her behalf...I will make sure she never does this again...please beta for my sake forget this has happened".

Arnav looked at him and nodded his head. Why was he putting up with such a crazy woman?

Nani had sent Lavanya upstairs to make her come closer to Arnav. He stood there gazing at the stars through his gliding doors. Thinking.

*Arnav Singh Raizada stop thinking of THAT Khushi Kumari Gupta...my God I hate her...how dare she push me off! Khushi Kumari Gupta I will make your life hell from tomorrow..you will wish you were never born*

He felt a pair of arms slide around his chest.

"Lavanya?" he turned around surprised.

"Yes it's me ASR"

"What are you doing at this time?"

"I was missing you ASR...thought could spend the night with you".

She cuddled into him.

"Lavanya if Nani or Di finds out they will..."

"Don't worry ASR Nani already knows...and Di well she has retired to her room".

"Lavanya..."

She began nuzzling into his neck. Arnav resisted by pushing her away but she began coming closer.

"LAVANYA STOP IT!"

He pushed her off him and pointed at the door. "GET OUT! NOW"

Lavanya looked at him shocked and then shaken. Her eyes began welling with tears.

"ASR I am your girlfriend why don't you like me coming closer to you...I was missing you and.."

"LAVANYA JUST GO! CAN'T YOU BLOODY HEAR ME? LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Controlling her emotions she fled his room. Arnav took a big sigh. He hated Lavanya coming close to him. He got into this relationship to stop Nani pestering him about marriage yet it had worked against him. Combing his hair with his fingers he looked on flabbergasted.

"Chamkili where are you man? Come back to your Nannav"

Mr Gupta, Samita Devi sat at the dining table for dinner.

"Dad I'm telling you that Arnav Singh Raizada is not as good as your making him out to be.."

Picking up his naan he continued.

"You're kidding right? Last year he won business tycoon of the year award..."

"Whatever! But dad I am only working with his with your recommendation otherwise I would have never said yes to him..."

"Thanks Khushi...and another thing no pushing or shoving him please?"

Khushi giggled and then promised her dad.

"Fine! I will give him a chance to prove himself to me"

"You father and daughter..alll the time work work work! Don't you have anything else to talk about?" said Samita looking annoyed.

"Ma of course we do! "

Khushi sat there trying to appease her mum. After a while she remembered she needed to sort something out.

"Payal...ummmh the cabin next to me...get that emptied and cleaned for Mr Arnav Singh Riazada..he will be working from our office from tomorrow"

"ASR? Hayeee in our office?!" asked Payal excitedly. She always fancied him. He was the tall, dark and handsome types.

"Yeees?" said Khushi curiously.

"Sorry Mam it will be done"

"Good"

She cut the call off.

"Arnav Singh Raizada...the game will start from tomorrow... let's see how long you last in front of Khushi Kumari Gupta...Hey Devi Maiyaa this will be fun!"

Twisting her face to avoid a smirk playing she walked off to her bedroom.
