Hey guys here is a quick update just for Valentine's Day. I wanted to get out a romantic taareylicious update. Enjoy! The next update may take a bit longer for me to get out. Hopefully I'll be able to update by the end of the week, but if not then next week will have the new update. Hope you guys like this cht. Chapter 7: Dancing in the Moonlight

At four, the four guys and Taani were at the music room talking. "Okay so I'm going to need you all to kind of audition for this." Taani said.

"What, why?" Rey asked confused.

"I need to see how well your voices are and how they would sound together." Taani explained. "And maybe see where your forte lies."

"Okay." They all agreed. Taani tried to walk around them to get to the piano but she tripped instead and was about to fall when Rey's arms caught her. Taani and Rey were pulled into an eyelock as Nil and Vicky rolled their eyes and grinned.

"What is happening?" Sid asked confused as Nil and Vicky rolled their eyes.

"Nothing dude you get used to it." Nil said.

"Are they a couple?" Sid asked again watching the intense chemistry between them.

"They will be soon." Vicky grinned. "We heard he's taking her out tonight." They chuckled breaking TaaRey out of their eyelock.

"Sorry." Taani said blushing as she went to the piano. The guys chuckled and Taani gasped as she realized something.

"What?" Rey asked her weary.

"I still didn't get to see the new episode of Psych." She said as they laughed.

"You're a pysch-o too!" Sid said getting up. Taani looked at him and grinned widely. "Yeah! No one here understands but I love it." Taani said.

"Me too, it's amazing! Gosh I found someone who watches it as well." Sid said as Taani and Sid grinned like 5 year old getting chocolate.

"You know Sid, you're gonna fit in just fine." Taani said with a smile. "Alright now onto auditions. Who wants to go first?" She asked looking at all of them.

"Well you've already heard me sing." Rey said pointing out the obvious.

Taani smiled and said, "Okay Nil you go."

Nil stood up and said, "I can rap and beat box." Taani nodded and urged for him to continue. "And Vikcy can also sing and beat box. Why don't you play the piano to Stereo Hearts and we'll sing?" Nil asked.

Taani nodded as she turned and played the keys on the piano. She was surprised when she heard Vicky sing so well. Adding to her surprise was Nil rapping while Vicky beat boxed to the song.

"Well, I think you guys have given me an idea for our piece." Taani said once they finished. "Ya'll were too good." She said happy.

"Sid you're turn." Nil said sitting down feeling rather confident about himself after the compliments he received.

"Alright, um you don't need the piano I'm going to sing what you sang yesterday." He said. "I'm wide awake," he started in the same pitch that Taani sang in.

Taani was impressed that he could sing the entire song back in the same pitch that she sang in. "Wow." She said with a smile. "I think this can actually work." Taani said. "The only problem is that none of you play instruments, expect for Rey so we can't give a live performance with a band." Taani said.

"Why not do acapella? You were planning on it with your old team. And Sid has experience. We can learn." Nil suggested. Taani thought it over and agreed to it.

"Alright, but this is more than a competition, I need to win this." Taani told them. "If I win this then I can try and find other singers as well."

"I know that this group is temporary, once the voice off is over you will go back to dancing. But I'm still going to need to find myself singers for the future." Taani said stressed about what she would do after the voice off was over.

"Taani, right now just focus on winning the voice off." Rey said not wanting her to get worried about what's going to happen.

"It's not just about winning. VP sir had given us an ultimatum. Only six people joined the music department since we started. I know it's still early and this is our first real competition, but VP sir needs more people to join. After this competition what am I going to do if there are no students who are interested in singing or music?"

"Yeah, besides if you win then maybe students will come to you themselves to be part of the music department. Wasn't that your original plan? You only had six people with you and you needed more to join to keep the music department right? So win this and you'll get people who will want to join up." Nil said.

"Since when did you guys get so smart." Taani said laughing and relieving the tension. "Alright let's get down to business. If we are going to acapella then all of you are going to have to learn to use your voices in perfect harmony." Taani said as they spent the next two hours defining their voices.

"Good job guys!" Taani said after the two hours were done. "So before we leave I wanted to decide on the songs we'll be doing."

"I have a suggestion." Sid said as they turned to look at him. "I think we should stick with Wide Awake and mash it up with another song. Your ex-team should know how stupid they were to leave. It was also the song you sang solo that impressed the judges. If you add it in, it'll be like you won a battle."

"Sid I seriously have no idea how you are coming up with these amazing ideas today." Taani said as she agreed. "Alright now all of you out, I don't wanna see ya until tomorrow."

"You don't want to see us but we know you want to see Rey tonight." Vicky said with a grin as both Taani and Rey blushed and looked away from each other. "All right let's go." Vicky said grinning as all of them left. At the college door Rey looked at Taani and smiled.

"I'll see you in a bit." He winked before he left.

When Taani got home she was surprised to see all the girls in her room raiding her closet.

"What are you doing?" She questioned them.

"It's your big night." Sharon said without looking out of the closet.

"So naturally we're here for the outfit, hair, and makeup." Simi said as well plugging in Taani's straightner.

Taani looked at them like they were crazy, she watched Neha and Rini talk about the makeup kit in their hands. But then Taani looked at Aashi and her heart broke. Aashi didn't deserve what Rohan did to her. None of them deserved any more sadness in their lives. For all she could care her Dad, Rey's Dad, Rohan, Anya, the girl who cheated on Sid, all of them could suck it.

Sharon turned around and noticed Taani's expression and saw her looking at Aashi. She got the other girl's attention and they all noticed how down Aashi looked.

"Aashi, you know I can cancel right. If you need me I can cancel. We can instead just have another girls night, one that is not crashed by the boys." Taani said.

"No!" Aashi yelled getting up, "You cannot do that to us. We've been waiting a long time for you and Rey to go on a date you can't take this away from us." Aashi said too excitedly.

Taani looked at her bewildered and Aashi bit her tongue and said, "I mean you can't do this to Rey." In a second all the girls starting cracking up.

"Fine, but how about you guys stay the night? I'm sure that Bhai won't let me stay out past 10 so when I get back we can have a girl's night with a whole bunch of ice cream and sappy romance movies." Taani said.

"Deal." Aashi said smiling knowing what a good person her best friend was. "And of course Sharon would find it a good idea." Aashi said in a teasing voice.

Sharon feigned innocence and said, "Duh, there's a flat screen TV in Taani's room and her bed is the most comfortable bed ever."

"And there's also a comfortable, cute boy that lives in this house that may be someone important to Sharon." Simi said aiding in the teasing as they all giggled.

"Alright so I think I have a dress in mind and then ya'll can go crazy." Taani said as her friends started squealing happy to get to get Taani dressed.

An hour Taani was finally ready. In between her friends bickering about her makeup and her hair Taani managed to get ready and managed to look beautiful. She wore a beautiful sleeveless royal blue dress that had a gold belt around the waist.

The girls had straightened Taani's hair and put light make up on her. The doorbell rang and Taani rushed out of her room with the girls only to see Swayam open the door.

"Hey man what's up." Rey said coming in not getting a response from Swayam. Rey looked around and stopped when he saw Taani. She looked beautiful in her dress. He didn't want to take his eyes off of her.

Taani couldn't help but check Rey out as well. He looked handsome in his black jacket, his black jeans and white shirt.

Swayam coughed and said, "Eyes off my sister." Getting Rey's attention.

Taani came towards them and smiled at Rey, "Hi."

"Okay rules, Taani must be home by 10, not a minute later. If there is even a scratch on her I will personally skin you alive, I don't care if you're my best friend. Are we clear?" Swayam said seriously.

Taani and Rey looked at each other and stifled their grins, "Yeah Swayam." Rey said as he turned to Taani. "Ready?" He asked.

"Yeah she's ready!" He heard Sharon yell from behind the house. He turned and found the girls there and he smiled and waved bye at them.

Taani and Rey reached the place Rey was taking her tonight. Taani gasped when she saw where they were. "Thank god I wore a dress and heels." She said without thinking making Rey chuckle at her. Rey held her hand and brought her inside. The restaurant he brought her to was no ordinary restaurant. It was an outdoor restaurant with a dancing area for couples. The entire place was light with lights and flowers decorated the interior.

"It's beautiful." Taani said looking around as Rey took them to their seats, she was dying of happiness inside, this was her dream date, the exact same replica from her favorite movie. Taani smiled as she saw an elderly couple of the dance floor just swaying to the music, lost in each other's eyes.

"Hi sir, ma'am what can I get ya'll tonight." The waiter said coming to their table.

Rey who already knew everything Taani liked to eat ordered for them as Taani just smiled admiring Rey.

"What?" Rey asked noticing how Taani was looking at him.

"You, nothing." Taani said looking down blushing. Their food came and they ate and talked and Taani couldn't help but feel like this was the best date she'd ever been on. He made her laugh so hard.

"Can I ask you a question Rey?" Taani said suddenly breaking the humorous atmosphere.

"Shoot." Rey said.

Taani blushed and looked down at her food, "Why did you ask me on a date today?"

Rey looked at Taani and slightly blushed, "I, I thought you knew." Rey said. "I like you, a lot more than a friend. A lot more than like." Rey said as he watched her expression.

Taani blushed and said, "Me too."

Before they could get even more awkward Rey stood up and held out his hand. Taani looked at him as he nodded his head towards the dance floor. Smiling Taani took his hand as he pulled her into him. A slow romantic song came on as Rey put his hand on her waist and guided her hand to his shoulder. Pulling her close, they danced looking into each other's eyes.

Rey and Taani swayed from side to side not once leaving each other's eye sight. "I think I'm falling in love with you Taani." Rey whispered to Taani as he stared into her eyes, not able to hide it anymore.

Taani gasped not believing that she heard it. "Kya?" She asked him.

Rey looked down nervously and then looked up with confidence in his eyes. Softly caressing her face with his thumb he said, "I'm falling in love with you."

Taani smiled and bit her lip, "I can't help but fall in love with you." She whispered back. When she looked up she saw the happiness in Rey's eyes and couldn't help but laugh. Smiling he picked her up and spun her around.

"I love you." He said softly her forehead.

"Alright people, we have a special request from that young gentleman over there," the guy on stage said pointing to Rey, "For his lovely date."

Taani looked at Rey curiously and then automatically smiled when she heard the song that was playing. Taani laughed as Rey moved to the beat and held out his hand.

"How did you?" Taani asked taking his hand and allowing him to twirl her into him.

"First, I know that this is your favorite romantic movie. Do you remember that day you and the girls were talking about your dream date and you said even though it sounded crazy you wanted to dance to this song in a date exactly like the two characters in A Walk to Remember?" Rey asked her as Taani nodded.

"And you said it was the stupidest thing you've ever heard." Taani said. "I can't believe you remember that." Taani said smiling at him.

"I remember everything about you." Rey said kissing her cheek as they dance.

Dancing in the moonlight, everybody's feeling warm and bright.

Dancing to the beat Rey kept smiling at Taani, loving her laugh, loving how her eyes shined, loving how she looked at him with her beautiful smile. By the time the song was done Rey and Taani were smiling, looking into each other's eyes.

The song was done and Rey looked at the time. He smiled noticing he still had an hour. Grabbing Taani's hand he said, "Come on let's go, now onto the last part of our date."

Taani looked over at Rey and said, "Kya? There's more?"

"Taani you underestimate me." Rey said with a smirk as he snaked his arm around her waist, "Come on we're walking there." Rey said again taking Taani by surprise.

After two minutes of walking Taani broke, "Rey please, please tell me where we're going." Taani said not able to take the suspense anymore.

Rey chuckled and said, "I was waiting for you to break. Two minutes, I'm impressed usually you'd already be asking." He said only to find a glaring Taani. "I mean we're almost there beautiful." Rey said in a hopeful tone. Taani scoffed and crossed her arms across her chest as she stomped off, but Rey didn't miss that smile on her face.

Rey pulled her back so that he was hugging her from the back. Tightening his arms around her he smiled and playfully said, "I saw that smile beautiful."

Taani smiled and turned around wrapping her arms around his neck. "Now will you tell me where we're going?"

Rey chuckled and entwined his hand with Taani's trying to not grin at how perfectly their hands fit together, "How about we play a game while we get there so you won't think about it?"

"What do you have in mind?" Taani said giving him a suspicious look.

"20 questions?" He offered grinning knowing what her answer was going to be.

"No way, 20 questions always turns into a trying to get to know a deep dark secret task." Taani said.

"Alright, alright I was kidding." Rey said, "How about would you rather?" he asked as he saw Taani's face.

"Okay but I'll start." Taani said smiling widely. Rey looked at her with an amused expression as she asked her question, "Would you rather fly or turn invisible."

"Easy, fly. Then I wouldn't have to wake up early to get to college. I wouldn't have to wait through Mumbai traffic, and I would'nt have to hear Sharon yell at me for being late." Rey said with a sore expression.

Taani laughed and said, "Your turn."

"Would you rather be a dolphin or a bird." Rey asked randomly.

Taani gave him a questioning look and then answered, "Normally I would say bird, so I could fly away from things that I don't want to deal with. But now," She said looking at him, "I'd say dolphin, so I'd be destined to stay with one mate forever." Rey smiled slightly hearing her answer, realizing for the millionth time today Taani made his heart beat faster.

"My turn, would you rather go through training with Sharon or go through Bhai's reaction if we showed up late today?" Taani said with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Taani, both of them are scary." Rey said making Taani laugh. "Sharon over Swayam, Sharon will just yell and scare me but tumhara Bhai, he would murder me right there." Rey said again making Taani laugh.

"He probably would." Taani said with an innocent smile as Rey glared at her.

"Your bhai is way to protective." Rey said smiling. "It's sweet."

"Taani would you rather kiss a giant frog or kiss a snake." Rey asked her holding in his laughter when he saw her disgusted face.

"I rather kiss you." Taani said innocently not realizing she said it out loud until she saw Rey's face. Taani's words made Rey's heart beat faster.

Rey grinned and flashed her a flirty smile and wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her into him, "That can be arranged." He said softly placing his lips on hers. "We're here." He said after he pulled back.

Taani turned around and gasped. It was beautiful. They were at a lake that was surrounded by beautiful blue lights from lamps. She saw the moon's reflection in the water and saw the meadow leading to lake which had flowers lighting the pathway.

"It's beautiful." Taani said taking everything is.

"Yeah it is." Rey said watching all the expressions dance on Taani's face.

Taani turned to find Rey staring at her and she couldn't help but get pulled into his intense gaze.

He leaned in, watching the moonlight gently illuminate every inch of her face. He couldn't help but feel mesmerized by this beautiful woman standing in front of him. Leaning in closer Rey saw Taani lean into him as well. Rey watched as her eyes widened. "Oh my god." She said and Rey understood what she was trying to say.

"Let me guess you still haven't watched that episode of Psych yet." Rey said cursing that show for ruining his almost kiss. "How is it that at a time like this you are thinking of that?" Rey asking amused not even surprised that his crazy Taani would think of that.

Taani flushed for a moment and then held her chin up, "I'm not thinking of that." She said with a mischievous grin. Rey saw that grin and automatically started shaking his head, he knew she was upto something. Grinning she said, "I'm thinking of this." Taani grabbed Rey's arm and ran towards the lake pulling him into the lake with her. Laughing she splashed him with water.

Rey grinned and laughed as he pulled her into him managing to get her soaking wet as he dragged her through the water. "No!" Taani yelled as he picked her up and dropped her in the water. Coming up for air Taani spit out the water that had gone into her mouth. Laughing Rey offered her his hand and Taani grabbed it pulling him in as well. They got up laughing as they continued to splash each other as Rey pulled her in hugging her.

"I love you." He said as he quickly placed his lips on hers not willing to get distracted by anything else.

Taani smiled and deepened the kiss wrapping her arms around his neck. The alarm on Rey's phone went off making the both of them break apart. "Oh, it's 9:30, we should be getting back before your Bhai kills me for having you home late."

Taani laughed as they both got out of the lake dripping wet as they made their way back to Rey's car.

"You do know Sharon is going to kill you for ruining this dress. It's the one I got when I was with her at Goa." Taani said grinning at Rey's scared expression.

"I guess I can take her scream if it makes you laugh." Rey said cutely earning a kiss on the cheek from Taain.

When they reached Taani's house it was 9:50. Rey could not stop smiling and Taani couldn't stop herself from smiling like an idiot either.

They both got out of the car and Rey once again entwined his hand with hers walking slowly to her doorstep. Before they could reach her door Rey held her hand stopping her.

"Taani will you go out with me tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and maybe all the other nights after tomorrow?" Rey asked her biting his lip.

"Is this your way of asking me to be your girlfriend?" Taani teased him.

Rey laughed and gave her a cocky look, "Maybe I just want to keep kissing you." He said.

Taani blushed and placed a soft kiss on Rey's lips. "I'd love to." She whispered.

Rey grinned and then said, "Wait to the date or to being my girlfriend."

Taani laughed and kissed him again, this time giving him a slow, long kiss. "I love you too."

"Taani! Get inside right now." Swayam's voice came from the door making the both of them break apart. "Why are the both of you soaking wet?" Swayam asked noticing their appearance.

Taani and Rey just looked at each other before cracking up. "Oh god, I think I'm gonna be sick." Swayam said turning away from his best friend and his sister.

"Bye." Rey said winking at Taani and giving her a quick kiss before Swayam saw.

"Bye." Taani said with a smile. Turning around she smiled widely and skipped up to her door. Giving Swayam a kiss on the cheek she cheerfully said, "Goodnight Bhai." Walking inside with a completely happy mood Taani greeted all her girlfriends who were eager to find out what happened.

One week later:

Taani and Rey were rehearsing for their dance in the rehearsal hall. They would have been done an hour ago, but things were not going as planned.

"Rey!" Taani said blushing as she pushed him away again. The entire time she was trying so hard to concentrate on her routine but Rey made it so difficult. He would either whisper something romantic in her ear which would make her blush, or would kiss her making her forget about everything else, or would just tease her making her blush as she was right now.

"Aacha baba sorry, ab se only rehearsals I promise." Rey said cutely holding his ears making Taani melt. "Besides it's not my fault your too cute to resist." Rey said grinning as he saw Taani blush again.

"Rey that's it, you're dead!" Taani said narrowing her eyes and chasing after him.

"Woah, okay, Taani, sorry!" Rey said as he dodged all of her attacks. He was able to lapse onto her arms and he pulled her into a hug laughing.

Sid and Aashi had just reached the hall ready for their rehearsal time when Aashi smiled and Sid rolled his eyes at the love birds. "Do they ever stop?" He teased.

The gang had reached the hall as well and Swayam immediately said, "Rey hands off my sister." Making everyone laugh.

"Alright how much have you both gotten done? Remember the dance has to be," Sharon started to say before Sid, Aashi, and TaaRey broke her off.

"A minute and a half long, no longer no shorter." The four of the said.

Once the gang started talking Taani quickly looked from Sid to Aashi and back and forth. Smiling she went up to Sid and sing sang in a whisper, "I see how you look at her."

Sid who had quickly become Taani's new partner in crime looked at her and brought her to the side whispering quietly, "No way."

"Sid I can see it in your eyes, you like Aashi." Taani said.

"What? No way." Sid said.

"Yes way," Taani said back.

"No way."

"Yes way."

"No way."

"Yes way."

"Will you two be quiet." Sharon said already getting a head from them as they grinned at each other.

"Suck it." Sid said quoting from their favorite show Psych.

"You suck it." Taani said back.

"Suck iiit." They both sang as they broke out into laughter.

Aashi rolled her eyes at them and said, "We created a disaster by letting them become friends."

Rey just smiled and watched Taani's cute expression. "She's adorable." He said without realizing that his friends were listening to him.

The gang watched Rey's love face and started laughing, "Of course woh tujhe itni adorable lagti hai." As Rey just laughed and smiled at Taani.

"Hello kids I'm here to check if anyone needs anything for the dance off." Ram said coming in and breaking conversation.

"We're fine." Taani said giving him an awkward look to let him know that he was not welcome.

"Okay." He said before leaving.

Taani's phone rang and she looked at the message. "Shoot guys I have to go meet VP sir to finalize the announcement for the voice off." Taani said.

"Why? I thought we had everything done. We already had an assembly where we told the students the when and where of the dance off and the face off. We also told them that they are welcome to join either group after they come see us perform. And we even moved them with how you are fighting for an entire department." Nil said not understanding what else needed to be done.

"Yeah Nil, but VP sir wants to check on how we are doing. Even though he said that we don't have to record the songs for the dance off auditions, when the finals come I'm going to need singers to sing your songs and musicians for music. VP sir wants me to put out an official notice explaining what's going to happen." Taani said.

"Aacha, thik hai we'll see you later." Nil said.

"Bye, and all of you don't forget we need choreography to our song for the Voice Off so we'll need you there at our rehearsals today." Taani said before leaving.

"Good she's gone, we can start planning her birthday surprise." Aashi squealed. "I can't believe she has no idea that we're planning something for tomorrow."

"And she can't find out, or else you know Taani." Swayam said.

"So how do we plan this?" Sharon asked.

Rey grinned with an idea, "This is what we're going to do."

That night Taani, Nil, Vicky, Sid and Rey were rehearsing for the Voice Off. Things were not going well. Taani had no idea why the guys were having issues with singing.

"Sid stop trying to go over my part of the song!" Rey said aggravated at Sid.

"Then tell Nil to stop beating so loud that no one can hear anyone else."

"Shut up! Are you guys serious? We haven't even gotten the song done yet. Not to mention all of you suck at combined pitch singing. It's a good thing I sent the rest of the gang home, they would have nothing to choreograph today." Taani said gritting her teeth. "Now again, can we at least finish five seconds of one song!"

They started to sing again but then again Vicky said, "What are you doing?"

"Enough! All of you enough!" Taani finally snapped "You stupid men and your male egos! By Thursday I want an acapella song done perfectly with the four of you perfectly harmonizing your voices without any issues." Taani said standing up.

"But Taani it's Wednesday and tomorrow is," Rey started to say but immediately shut up when he saw the glare she was giving him.

"I don't care if you have to stay up all night. I'm already stressed about next Monday's dance off I don't need you guys going crazy as well! It is Wednesday night and I'm going home to watch Psych. Bye." Taani said grabbing her things and walking out of there in anger.

"Damn, nothing is as scary as a woman's anger." Sid said making all the guys burst out laughing.

"She bought it." Rey said smiling as he opened the wall and let the rest of the gang in. "So what are we planning for tomorrow?"

"Well for one, we have rehearsals early in the morning tomorrow." Nil said. "And we have to have a song ready. You know I thought Sharon was a scary captain, but Taani is just at her level." Nil said earning a smack on the head from Sharon.

"We can do a morning surprise, all of us meet here in the morning decorate and I guess have a birthday breakfast type situation." Aashi said.

"Yeah, but we have to remember to not answer any of her calls all morning long. And no wishing her even at midnight, which means you Rey." Swayam said looking at Rey.

"What, guys!" Rey complained not finding it fair that he couldn't even be romantic on his girlfriend's birthday.

"Rey you have the entire night of her birthday to wish her as much as you want. For now we need to make sure she is not in the best mood when she comes in so that she is actually surprised." Swayam said.

"Yeah at a party with all of you there." Rey said under his breath. "Alright, so did we decide on presents to make sure we don't get the same thing like last year." Rey said making everyone laugh remembering how all of them got Taani the same thing.

"We already got a gift from us girls." Sharon said.

"And as her brother I have gotten her something." Swayam added.

Amar, Sid, Vicky, and Nil also had gotten her a gift.

Rey smiled thinking of his gift knowing it was going to be good.
