I am wondering if Rk is doing all this to give MB a reason to be away from him and hate him. Because, when he read the letter she wrote to her mother, it was clear to him just what she was giving up for a "worthless" person like him- he being emotionally challenged and she being charged with it.
As the articles are predicting, this will be a catalyst to catapult MB into the film world which is all "make belief". She will extract "her revenge" knowing deep within that she loves him completely and understands his lack of emotional maturity.
He knows that his emotionless state has been corroded away with exposure to MB's presence. All the more he feels unfit for her.
Having watched the subtle changes in Rk the past few moths, it is obvious that he is totally in love with MB and the slaps seem too much of a faltu excuse to let her go. It is his love for her which is making him let her go because in his warped way he thinks that she will be "saved" from a "kamina" like him in the end. That is why, even though MB was willing to take their relationship to the next level in the village, he withdrew as he did not want her to be "touched", especially by him,
Wonderful plot, wonderful action, excellent execution. Kudos to the production/ direction team. I also liked the dialogue by RK where he says, "Everything is false, a lie- the set, design, lights etc." That way it was a subtle reminder to us, the audience, that it is just not the actors on the screen who make magic but all the unsung behind-the-scene technicians and others who put in so much effort and work to make a film/ show possible.
