I agree Manav, in the long run, the stereotype (Rahul-Raj) image of SRK will hamper him just like it did Rajesh Khanna in the past. And also for a time there were no takers's of Amitabh Bachchan's angry youn man, until he reinvented himself with KBC and Mohabattien. Though baring a few (like Black, Bagbaan etc) he is a glorified character artiste. But what Amitabh acheived in this latest stage is commendable.
Hrithik too had a rough patch, but he was smart enough to deconstruct himself with KMG and since then he is going from strength to strength with diverse roles and vareity. With KRRISH he is in a different league. He has maintained his stardom along with balancing it with his craft. And he is a complete actor and has a long innings. he is trying raise himself above the bar and going to the next level. With the ADLABS deal where more than the moolah, he has a creative freedom to choose his own director and unit.
His is not just an actor but also has assistant director experience and I guess has inherited some musical genes of Roshans. Here, he can use his experience of Assistant Director days. So, better times are ahead.
The main difference with Aamir and Hrithik is Hrithik has the advantage of age on his side, and is lot more rounded as a package than Aamir. Also, Hrithik's greek God looks only adds to his allure, which even has international appeal. When Aamir came in QSQT, he was stuck with his Chocolate Hero, then with Rangeela, Raja Hindustani, he changed. But with Lagaan he is in a different league.
As I see it, these are the 2 who will have greatest longevity.
SRK needs to reinvent himself and soon, how long would his NRI/overseas base support him with the same old stuff, his limitations are already getting magnified with each film which actaully made him SRK. Audeinces are outgrowing the same mannerisms. SRK has potential, if only he does more of SWADES and makes them a HIT.
