Work life balance has no formula

All students have different views on what is the right amount to time to spend studying

Some totally shut out everything else and focus only on studies

Some want to strike a balance between studies and their hobbies

Some just have a chilled out approach

To each his own,

As long as they are clear about what they are doing and where they want to go with it, all OK

Is one kind of student better than the other?
In my opinion, no

the same is true of professionals

Some are workaholics,

Work is all that they focus on

To the exclusion of everything else

Some others like to keep some "my time"

Some like to give a lot of priority to family time

And divide their time between work and home

Is one more professional or ethical than the other?

I say no.

Just because I am doing well and can make a lot of money and rise up the ladder really fast

I don't want to, because I don't want to invest all my time and energy in only this

Does that make me unprofessional?

I love my job, I do my best when I am at work

Beyond that, it's my choice how much and where I want to work.

Actors are professionals too ,

And the same applies to them

Some might want to work day and night

Others might do limited work

As long as they are good on screen,

Their talent gets the right opportunity and exposure

How much and which show / movie is a personal choice

We need to respect that and accept that

Work life balance has no fixed formula,

To each his own

Barun has a right to define his formula

And we have to respect that

For an actor, it is different, they have a responsibility towards the show and fans.

It cannot be a life with fixed hours

Unless they commit to it professionally, actors cannot survive

I think barun made a big big mistake, disappointed a lot of fans and that is a mistake an actor cannot afford to make

Sorry , but I disagree with you here, every one has a right to work the way they want to, actors included, and it has to be quality that matters more than the quantity

If the actor is tired, he will not be able to give his best and work will suffer

Less work but good work is his mantra, so be it

and you are comparing the participant of a reality show which is a competition, which is just for few weeks, which is like an exam time which does have a start and an end to an actor who works in a daily show for almost all days in a month, for 12-13 hours in a day and having no change in job. That participant in a reality show competition even gets to perform different things each week.
There is no way one can satisfy fans completely.Always in the process there will be someone who is not satisfied and thats a part of any job.And there is no point hurting your own self, own career just to please others. In that way one will be leading someone else's life.

Nice post buddy!! Well its not that all women are crazy about BS or that ASR is the most popular character of our recent past !So would jump into the discussion and favour BS. For me family and my work are important. I will enjoy my work as far as my inner self is satisfied and convinced whatever my job is, its creative and I am enjoying it. If I am selfless and intelligent I think money will follow one day or the other. But basically my peace of mind is important. Otherwise I would be at my job but I would not be healthy or happy any more. I feel same was happening to BS before he left IPKKND. So I guess he had strong reasons to quit. And I'm sure his last interview explains it.

Agreed, do your best at whatever you do, and that's precisely what barun also believes, if you can't give your best and are not convinced about what you are doing, then move out.

Just to stick to a job or a show even if you no longer feel the motivation to do it, is not right!

He was finding it too grueling to go on, so he decided to opt out, rather than go on with it mechanically

And anyway, different people have different degrees of satisfaction. There is no universal law at work here.

There are actors who do go on year after year, hats off to them

Barun was at the point where he wanted out, his work, his life, his choice, that's it!

So true, for me ASR and IPKKND were a passion and obsession, but I still feel strongly about Barun's right to make a choice about this. As you said, I too love my job, but I like to strike a balance and ghat does not make me any less professional, so same applies to barun

Thanks for saying it so well
