Dear Diary,
Sorry for this late conversation. I forgot to talk with you for three days long! But what to do! Uday has gone complete mad! He thinks he is in love with me! I don't know suddenly what happened to his brain! I know him from the days of my kindergarten. He is nice, cute, cool my best friend-Best friend forever. Everything was more than perfect between us, we played together at childhood, then hanged out together, I posed as his girlfriend so many times to save him from those chipkalis of him. But suddenly I don't know why he feels that the fake myth of Girlfriend boyfriend is all true!
You know nah how my prince charming will be! I told you thousands of times and I know Uday knows everything about it coz he (That Halkat Veda) always reads my diary when I am not around! Then also he thought of proposing me! How could he do that! He is a pakka suar. I even gave him my grany's phychriatist's number. But he looked sad, when I said "NO". But isn't it so obvious that I'll say "NO". He is my friend, I just can't imagine him romancing with me like Romeo with a bunch of roses in his hand and a Yash chopra movie song ringtone in his mobile, and Calling me Janu instead of Manu! And Uday Singh will be Uday Raj Malhotra!! The next time when we will be together on bike he will play DDLJ songs in his ipod instead of Backstreet boys! Oh God my brain is slipping from my head. Don't you think diary he should have imagined this before proposing me!
But I am worried; I really am worried for him! He never was that sad! Not even for the lost football match which I cheered for him, not even for his favorite jeans ( which I tore because it was two months old and completely out of fashion), and his two days old snickers (which I hid and he still knows its lost ! I thought the color does not match with his personality)! Oh God how will I save my Halkat veda now!
He is absent in college for three days, did not even think of calling me for notes and here I have already copied extra notes for him. What does he think! If he turns himself Devads from Romeo then he'll manage to get me! NEVER! I am Manyata Mukherjee. My lips will touch only my prince charming's lips and then it'll belong to him forever.
A blush crossed a girl of twenty's face who was so keenly writing her personal diary. She is Manyata Mukherjee. But again sadness fell on her face as she is very much worried about her best friend. She closed her diary as she found it is not able to solve her problem. It was night in the city of Kolkata when closing her diary Manyata tried to sleep. But again and again her best friend Uday Singh's words came rushing into her mind.
"Dhat tariki that Halkat Veda won't let me sleep also. I have to talk to him now!"
Rushing from her bed she wore her regular skirt and top and silently left her house leaving a sms to her baba, that she is going to Uday's house. Now she just cannot explain why she is going at his house at this hour because she herself does not know it.
"Manyata what are you doing here now?" A handsome boy of twenty one quried. His hair ruffled, his dress untidy,his face unshaved .
"Halkat Veda why did you take so much time to answer your door? and what have you done with your looks! you just wasted all my hard works on your hair!!!! and then you forgot to shave!!! how old is this T-shirt of yours? but first tell me when did you start calling me Manyata instead of Manu?" Manyata asked in a single breath.
"Manyata is it not the time to argue, please go back to your home."
"Oye if you are planning a fight with me then call me inside." And Manyata did not wait for his answer she just rushed inside and closed the door with a bang.
"Does uncle know that you are here?"
"I messaged baba."
"Manyata how can you be so irresponsible to people those who love you?"
"Sala suar you are giving me lecture? What are you doing for three days? You are avoiding me! And now you are continuously calling me Manyata'" She started crying and then started hitting him with objects in front of her, "Sala you did not answer my phone calls, and locked yourself in your flat thinking you can save yourself from me!!"
Uday ducked here and there to save himself from her. Then finally managed to hold her, "I just don't know how to tell you sorry!" There is sadness in his face, "I did a grave mistake which I never should have done." He lowered his eyes.
"Kutta, from when does this SORRY drama came between us? Don't you know that we make mistakes then hug and it gets over! Now you left me alone when I needed a tight hug!! "
"Because I have lost all my rights to hug you!" Uday yelled in frustration, "I have crossed the limits of friendship. I thought there is hidden love beneath our friendship."
"If you really think it to be true then why did not you propose me like the way I have wanted! Now don't give me the look like you have not read my diary, I know you read it suar!" Manyata made a face.
He looked at her, "You really want me to do that?"
"Do I always have to say haan nahin toh!"
Uday looked at her best friend again. That is the only reason he loved her because she is Manu; his Manu; his Manyata; his best friend forever!
"What happened? Didn't I write in my diary it will be sudden but deep, reach into my heart and stay forever!!"
Now Uday hold her in a second and kissed her within a moment. In an instant Manyata felt the magic. She hold him tighter and kissed him back. She thought she will beat him after breaking the kiss for not doing it earlier, but she was only lost into his eyes. There were few moments of silence between them, then Uday hugged her tight.
"Can we still be best friends Uday?"
"We still are best friend Manu and we will be forever!" Uday smiled.
Note: Please forgive me if the story is not good enough and if there is any grammatical error...I wrote it in a hurry, I wrote it because I am in a very bad mood 😭
