VD is a lot like his character RK in real life. He has a reputation of being bratty and arrogant. But it did not take Vahbiz more than a few lunch dates to bust that myth. VD does not talk much but once you get to know him better, he is talktative and mad. VD says that most people think I am stuck up and hence I have a handful of friends. But with Vahbiz I had no problems connecting.

Vahbiz says that VD's female fans disapproved of their relationship and in the initial stages, she had to put up with angry phone calls and hate mails. She said it was very upsetting but learnt not to take it seriously.VD says that now his female fans see that they are perfect and there has been an increase in his fan following (post 2011).

VD's fans had a grouse that Vahbiz is two years older to VD. VD admits that he used to be stubborn and it has been Vahbiz's mature approach that attracts him.

Vahbiz says that VD has been shooting for MB and she is his real life Bittuji as she managed the wedding preparations and renovating their home with VD's help.

She also says that she not jealous of the on screen chemistry between VD and DD and thinks that they one of best looking couples on screen.
