Hello friends, today I want to share my learning from an experience I had in these past days. In wanting a baby, I started gardening and surprisingly did well in taking care of the plants. People living in building can also fulfil their passion of gardening by planting saplings in pots and placing them on the window sill. However, before going about it, here are few tips on gardening.

1. Know you building regulations:

Some buildings have strict rules of placing anything on the railings or grills in the building.

2. Weight limit:

See how many pots you can place on your balcony or windowsill. The pot should not be over-weight as it may face the danger of falling down.

3. Drainage:

While watering your plants, you don't want to drip the water on to your neighbour's flat. Placing plant saucers are hence a good option. Remember to empty them at regular intervals or else your plants will be sitting in the water.

4. Know the direction of sun and wind:

It is very important to know the amount of sunray and wind reaching your window sills. This will help understand the type of plants you must buy and grow.

5. Containers:

If you want to reduce the soil weight, fill the bottom with styrofoam peanuts or crushed plastic. This will keep the soil from being washed away while watering.
