Greedy and me? What rubbish!’

Shveta Salve reacts to rumours that she doesn't want to share her prize money with choreographer Longi

Shveta Salve, who is very excited over the approaching finale of Jhalak Dikhhlaja was stunned when she heard accusation that she didn't want to share her prize money with her choreographer Longi. "Greedy and me? What rubbish," fumes Shveta. "People probably don't know that 20 per cent cash prize has to go to the choreographer. After that, what I want to give him is my business. It more about the kind of equation that I have with Longi than anything else," says Shveta. So, is she ready to part with her booty. "Why just just 20 per cent? I believe that they deserve 50 per cent of the cash prize as they have worked equally hard to make us dance." Shveta says that she doesn't want to talk about the money because she hasn't won the contest yet. "I haven't won the contest, so how can I talk about my plans? Right now, I am concentrating on my dance. I don't want to build castles in the air. What if it doesn't happen?" she says. But have the rumours affected her equation with Longi? Shveta says, "Longi was equally shocked when he got to hear of these things. I don't know what people are going to achieve creating trouble now, when the contest is ending." Shveta is also upset that some of her co-contestants have said that dancing is easier for Shveta than it is for Mona Singh and hence the latter deserves to win. "I may be complimented on my natural ability to dance, but believe me it's not as easy as it looks. I haven't had a complete eight-hour sleep for the past few months. My co-contestants haven't seen me slogging. If I was a trained dancer they wouldn't have chosen me for the show. Should I under-perform just to keep others happy?" questions Shveta. Shveta says that though she was troubled with these rumours she has now got back to practising for her next performance. The actor is now ready to move to the beats again.
