Shveta Salve is hurt by Pooja Bedi's comment that Mona Singh is a better person

Now that she has reached the enviable Top 2 position on the popular dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Shveta Salve seems to be inviting a lot of ire. In a recent story published in a newspaper, fellow-contestant Pooja Bedi was reported saying that the other finalist Mona Singh deserves to win because she's a better human being.
Shveta is genuinely hurt. "I've been nice to all the contestants. If some of them got eliminated, is it my fault? I didn't know Pooja Bedi before the show. Besides, she was there for a very brief period. I don't know why she should make such a comment. I've nothing against Pooja. Honestly it's hard to believe that Pooja or Rati Agnihotri would speak that way about me. I became very close to Ajay Jadeja and Mahesh Manjrekar during the show. I'm shocked."
Shveta further adds, "I don't know why I've to keep proving myself. Such negative and untrue writing about me at this stage is really going to affect me especially when I'm just one step away from winning. Now they're trying to pitch me against Mona Singh, as if we're children."
Another accusation being hurled at Shveta is that she's trained and therefore not qualified to be on the show. Shveta says, "Is it my fault if I dance well? Even Sanjay Bhansali said in the last episode that my kind of dancing can't be cultivated. One is born with it. Just because I dance well, it doesn't mean I'm trained. As you know, Maharashtrian families usually put their kids through dancing or singing classes. So, at the age of six, my mother too enrolled me for Kathak classes. But after that I've never attended dancing classes in my life."
As for Shveta's fellow-finalist Mona, she says, "I've no issues with Mona, whatsoever! We worked together in Jassi... And now we're working together again in Jhalak... We share a professional relationship. In fact, I admire Mona for the headway she has made in such a short span of time."
