What I meant is when I see women battered in movies and TV (and have you noticed how common place it is becoming?) I am unable to handle, maybe stuff from one's own life etc, I just cannot see a woman helplessly looking at a vacant future, those eyes haunt me, a woman must stand up and fight against atyachar has always been my view. Ganga is strong and needs support I agree, but I think someone said that this will lead to romance between them, I am not with that and said so.

I know it felt terrible to see her being battered. But that is the reality. There was a news where an alcoholic husband in a drunk state bit his daughter's nose off and battered his wife who was married to him at the age of 14.Her in laws are siding with her son. This is reality.
Those women need help to stand on their own two feet.

I would like to see J helping her stand up on her two feet for his own sake as well after what better way is there for a man like J who uses and discards women as per his whims and fancies to become a better man by doing so?At least he will try to see the situation from a woman's perspective for the first time in his life.

I agree with you J marrying Ganga in order to help her is the most demeaning thing for a woman.
Helping her is a good thing but TRYING TO HELP HER BY MARRYING HER IS A BIG NO.
