"Khushi", he called out loudly.
"What happened Arnavji?",she asked just loud enough from the kitchen.
"Come here right away", Arnav gave another loud cry.
She left the jalebi making session in haste, wondering what his dear husband wanted so urgently. She reached the poolside , halting near him.
"What the hell did u do to my plants?", he yelled at her, fury evident in his eyes.
"I .. did not touch them". She was reeling in both confusion and anger. she peeked over at the corner of the garden . Clearly the two pots were missing.
"Who else will?Stop playing around ". He clenched his fists . "No one messes with my plants" .
She gave him a painful look, hurt by his accusation when she had absolutely no idea where his beloved plants laid.
" I dont know" She flipped around , and walked back into their room with a red face and smoke escaping from her ears.
He realised his mistake and walked back into the room guiltily. She was sitting on the bed , trying to concentrate on packing something.
"Khushi, Im sorry, I thought you were upto some mischeif ". He said calmly, knowing it wasn't so easy to make up to her. She continued to look at the box she held in her hands.
Just then , they could hear the sky growling. The both shot their eyes outside. A few seconds later , the rain stepped down. As predicted, Delhi was to be greeted with a rain shower that week.
khushi's heart leapt at the sight and sound of it. Rains. how badly she wanted to get drenched , but the moment she looked it Arnav , it all came back . Suppressing her desire , she got up to leave her room and disappear into the living room where the beautiful weather outside couldn't be seen.
"Look its raining, Don't u wanna go out ? U love 'em and they are the first ones of the year". He smiled widely , attempting to bring out the laughter and grins that she always has on her face.
"I can see its raining , and i don't want to go out" . She stated sharply. Drawing in a deep breath , she plopped herself on the couch .
" C'mon, u know me , Sorry, What shall i do for you ?", he asked , taking a place next to her.
Khushi looked straight ahead, before telling him that, "U will have to dance with me in the rain". Her lips curved slightly, trying to imagine Arnav's expression. He hated rains .
"U know , I-I hate them. Il watch u dance". He said in his deep husky tone. "How about that huh?".
She wasn't going to fall for it , not this time. "yes or no , arnavji?" . Arnav gave in , knowing , it was the only solution to her happiness.
-------------------------
He saw her standing with a gleeful face, head tilted backwards , as the rain ran over her soft skin, drenching her completely. How peaceful she looked. He stood with his hands folded , watching her amusedly. She motioned him to join her, and he knew he had to.
He slid his hand behind her waist, pulling her closer.Slowly , they moved in simple steps, lost in each others eyes. Their gazes were electrifying, sending chills through their bodies.
The rain continued . He twirled her , with his little finger that was entwined with his, before lifting her high. She drank in the beauty of life, a life she spent with the man she loved , her heart pounding with every little raindrop that touched her cheek.
The scent of the earth added to the beautiful afternoon was intoxicating. They danced for a long time, until the rain stopped.

"What were u packing by the way?" , Arnav asked, drying his hair with the towel.
"Oh, Its Risha's Birthday today.Packing her gift . Il be leaving in an hour " . She was beaming .
Arnav rolled his eyes . "Aren't u too old for a 16 year old's party?".
She giggled. "yes, i know.. im helping her mum with the dishes. I am making jalebis ", she said proudly.
"There will be golgappas, loads of chaat . Risha loves chaat . And some chinese food.. hak- " , she stopped at the last word, placing her finger on her chin trying to remember the wired name.
"hakka noodles ", he completed it for her, with a low chuckle.
"Oh yes.. I have to get ready , and finish making the rest of jalebis" . She glanced at the clock , and almost jumped. " hey devi Maiyya, im so late, its already 5, i won't even get a rickshaw soon " , she cried.
" Khushi , relax, il drop you ".
"Thank you, and do come inside and wish her.And wait there for some time. Don't act like a lard governor. ok?" . He laughed at those words. the words 'Lard governr' did not irk him today. He had realised she was right , after the drama that happened few hours back.
"Ok, And u don't pull up some antics out there, ok?" , he smirked .
She scoffed before breaking into a smile. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead . It was indeed a beautiful day.
