NBT is back to its brilliant best of using common objects as strong metaphors to depict a person's state of mind. We saw hankies, cactus plants and fountains in season 1 and today we saw the window and the paper aeroplane in action.The window was a beautiful reverse metaphor as closing it meant Megha was open to reliving her past with Mohan whereas today she opened the window signifying to Nanhi that she was closed to the idea of restarting life with Mohan again and that she would rather be indifferent to his existence (though she does have his sindoor on). While the window interlude cheered up Navika, it disappointed Jijibua who still feels that Mohan has gone temporarily only to finally return (bhaga nahin hai - gaya hai, wapas aane ke liye)
The aeroplane metaphor was nicely done as well as it depicts Mohan's soaring aspirations of reconciliation as he tries to fly the plane to the kids in the top balcony but fails. Megha is undecided about her own aspirations as she is confused about how to face Mohan and she gingerly holds the plane without knowing what to do. Nanhi on the other hand is quite sure that she does not want any reconciliation with Mohan and briskly flies the plane away from her window and her life.
