Whilst you hit the nail on the head with regard to her reasons for wanting a child, this is a novelty and has the potential to either die away or with the police enquiring could hurt Rashi more.

This novelty has taken over her entire existence and regardless of what else is around her self absorbed nature has amplified the real Rashi for even Hetal to face it.

It is a very interesting track as it has already revealed to Hetal some of Rashi's true qualities. I am expecting more revelations to unfold, like Urmila taking the blame for the kidnapping of the baby and Rashi standing or not standing by her mother's side, and Jigar scolding Rashi for her impatience. Further, the cherry on the top will be, Kokila saying to Hetal 'I knew that something was not right'.
