CHAPTER 12:

He looks at the shivering Riya who was cuddling onto his shirt. They were hiding behind a vehicle. A car was burning ahead. He had only one idea in mind and that was to keep her safe. he looked ahead. The SUV was a few feets away from them.

"Riya... look at me..."

She looks up. "Riya.. control yourself. We should leave here. Wo tumhare aur wo memory stick ke piche hai. we should go. Ok??" she nods.

They get up. Riya was so close to him. They move towards their SUV. She was so worried. Being a reporter she was used o some such situations. But never such a big crisis crossed her way. She had taken a great risk to collect those evidences. And now she couldn't allow it to go to the wrong hands.

She looked around and also at her savior. She noticed something. There was a laser dot over Arjun's shirt. He was busy in leading her out of the point. She knew she should move. She pushed Arjun forward. And as her hands were in his, she was pulled to him. He lost a bit balance and leaned on to a nearby vehicle. At the same moment a window cracked from the sudden shot. He gathered the matter and looked ahead. He saw someone suddenly hiding. He could swear that he saw a riffle. He looked at her. "Sir, some one was aiming at you. I saw the laser dot"

He nodded. He wanted to know more about the matter, but there was no time. he rushed her to the SUV and started the vehicle to the office.

On the way he first called the office to increase the security and to observe each point. He called Shree to find about the recent call he got. He called Chotu, to gather what he found in the place where the dead bodies of the inspectors were found. They reaches the office. It was Riya's first visit to the ETF office. She was amased at the set ups over there.

He lead her to the conference hall and gave a seat and water. He immediately called Aisha.

Arjun: Aisha, Rathod kaise hai?

Aisha: he is fine sir.

Arjun: phone do usse.

Aisha hands over the phone.

Ra: ha bolo Arjun.

Ar: Rathod are you in a condition to come to the office?

Ra: kya hua?

Ar: bohot kuch Rathod. Ab chupne ka koi fayda nahi hai. they know we are having the evidences. Wo log aaj Riya ko mujhpe attack kiya.

Ra: what? How is she?

Ar: she is fine. We reached office. She is safe here.

Ra: ok, mien araha hu. Jo hoga dekha jayega.

Ar: Rathod, I didn't want you to get more stressed. Par ab...

Ra: I know Arjun. I'm fine. We'll reach soon.

Rathod, who was getting better now, got up. "Lets go Aisha." She helped him to get ready. He was back in his check shirt and pants. Though there was slight pain, he ignored it. she closed the door and drove him to the office.

They reached the office. The other staffs who till now had no idea of Rathod's where abouts, came forward to greet him.

Man1: sir, aap yaha? Welcome back sir? Aap teekh tho haina??

Ra: I'm fine officer. And thanks its good to be back.

Man 2: we missed you sir. Aap fikar math kijiye. Jo sab bol raha hai bolne do. We know you better. Aur hamare koi bhi zaroorath pade tho please batha dena.

Ra: (touched) thanks a lot guys.

Man 1: welcome back chief.

Arjun and others were witnessing these. They were happy to see this. Riya had tears in her eyes. Rathod and Aisha enter the conference room. Arjun, Shree and Riya were there. Rathod saw Riya and she came to him.

"tum teek tho hai na Riya?"

"ji bhai. Are wah, aap tho yaha ke hero lag rahe hai. sab apko bohot miss kar rahe the..."

"kya karu, ithne fans jo hai hamare.." he winks at her and hugs. Over the hug he looks at Arjun and mouths a thanks, and he replies with a nod.

"WOW... yaha tho family reunion lag raha hai..." a voice came from behind. all turned to the commissioner. Riya left Rathod and stood in a side.

Com: (going to Rathod) WTH Rathod? Kaha the tum? Aur ye sab kya horaha hai?

Ra: sir I can explain...

Com: and you should explain.

Ra: sir I can understand the problems. Aapko gussa hone ka pura haq bhi hai. lekin mere koi majburi thi. And I swear I never knew this would happen.

Com: but it happened Rathod. How could you be so careless? Tumhare iss harkath ke wajah se hamare kafi be-izathi hua hai. and I know what to do next. Tumhare ye harhath se tumhe saza dene se koi rok nahi saktha.

Arjun: but saza denekeliye gunah sabit tho hona bhi haina sir??

Com: I knew you would compliment him. Isiliye, mien Rathod ko abhi isi waqt ETF se dur kar raha hu.

All shocked.

Com: usse mere ek team ke saath rehna hoga, aur sare sawalon ke jawab bhi dena hoga.

Ar: SORRY SIR! BUT I CANT ALLOW YOU DO THAT!!

Com: what?? Tum mujhe rokoge?? Kiss haq se??

Ar: kyunki ye case ETF ke haath mien hai. aur iss waqt mien ETF ke 'Acting Chief' hu. Aur jaise aapne Rathod ko hataya hai, I have all my power to handle this case and 'interogate' him SIR!!!

Com is silent. "par Rawte.."

Ar: aapko ye nahi patha hoga ke Altaf ke khilaf jo sabooth the, wo Rathod ke behen Riya ke paas the.

Com is shocked now.

Ar: aur aaj wo nikaalne gaye tho, hum pe kisine hamla bhi kiya tha.

Com is listening to all the words. He turns to Riya, who was silent till now.

Com: Riya?? Right??

She nods.

Com: so did you get your evidences back?

Before she could say, Arjun cut in. "nahi, koi aur pehle waha aa chuka tha. I don't think they got what they were searching for. Aur jaha Riya ne wo evidences chupaya tha, wo waha nahi hai. shayad un logomke thalashi ke waqt pe kahi kho gaya hoga." Riya looks at him blankly.

Com: is it true Riya? You didn't get it?

She looks back at Com and nods negative.

Com: tho kaha rakha thaw o sab??

Riya (thinks for a while) mere study mien, books ke piche. Lekin sab niche gir gave the. So we couldn't get it.

Com thinks for a while and turns to Arjun. "don't think mien tumhare har harkat ko support karunga. For the time being Rathod ko yahi rakhthe hai, for the 'interogation' lekin zyada waqt nahi."

Ar: aap jo waqt denge, uss waqt se pahle ye case solve hojayege sir!! Aap fikar math kijiye.

Com goes out after glaring at Rathod.all sighs.

Ra: why did you do that? Unse aise kyu baath kar rahe the? Aur tumhe wo evidence nahi mila hai kya?

Arjun moves towards his chair and sits down. He takes out the memory stick and pushes it to Shree. "Shree analyse it."

They are shocked.

Ra: that means you had it. fir ye sab kya ho raha tha?

Ar: ek theer ko choda hai Rathod. Dekhthe hai ke nishana pohonchthe hai ke nahi.

Rathod stood struck at his position.

Ar: ab ithne bhi respect math do. Apne seat me baito. Case jaldi solve karna hai. aur mujhe ye 'acting chief' wale role se mukth kara do.

Rathod nods his head unbelievingly and goes to his seat. All look at him and smile. "kya hua? Aise kya dekh rahe ho?"

Shree: kuch nahi sir. Bas aise hi. Anyway welcome back Chief...
