Because it was evident she loved him in her own way in some episodes like during the Holi, when she saw him eating her Jilebis, when she said she loved him a lot to herself in Gupta house, when she was speaking to devi Mayya that she knew what has happened to her and she wants to get better once Arnav gets engaged to La, and when on Payash engagement she was having that blank look at when speaking to devi mayya and Arnav hiding her pain. I think they both had a very huge ego and that is why we were always confused. In any case they showed us I think that Arnav's love was there but always as a background until he thought he is going to lose her and Khushi's love was come and go. She first fell in love with Arnav, then tried her best to forget loving him during her engagement and then started again during Payash marriage and then again tried to forget during hate marriage.

all great thoughts. his behaviour tawards after the diwali kiss-miss did play a big role and the way she cried, we know she was in love + when payal asks her about where she found her payal, she said "uss baat ka koi matlab nahi tha"...hinting that it meant something to her but since it didn't mean anything to him, she wanted to just forget. the more i think about it, maybe it was intentional that they didn't use words to defy the moment they fell in love...it just happened. with every episode, they fell deeper and deeper. I always felt he feel in love calender shoot rabba-ve and when i saw that his gift to her diwali 2012 was a pic from that shoot, i took as a confirmation. it'll be interested to re watch and see if we uncover something

The game of attraction is turning into tantalization and provocation.She is feeling his quiet entrance into her with his tiny tingling sensation which she never felt before. He is tempting towards her regardless of his self imposed guards "Mujhe koi farak nahin parta" as he is keeping himself from this inducement either because of his Past or else.This allurement of each other is another puzzle for them which is creating a fear in her as well as in him.[Which I think turns into hate cause she is getting under his skin and that's why he is going to be saying this"Mein tumhain iss ghar mein jagha nahin banane doon ga"(I won't let you make room in this house)means I won't let you win over me after failing million attempts to explain his side and her declaration to leave for Lakhnow."Agar meri Zindagi mein aisi larKi Aa bhi gayi to mein us se door hi rahoon ga"(I will be staying away from a such gal) big words...(as Nani said pyar bare baron ko hila deta hai) yeah right...'it doesn't seem Mr ASR...'or Ms KKG...😉

The way both have inveiglement to lure each other,it seems very hard to imagine they can go other way around. During Pooja they both steal glances lovingly as she is more into pooja to get strength to face him and he is there with Anjali for Khushi.The blandishment to be around her and to keep her around is getting a new dimension as he touches her unintentionally but don't mind to let go and this time his touch is creating havoc inside her as she is unfamiliar to this sensation.The enticement is written all over his face as he is observing her at every step which is again surprising him "Then why did she react like this at Satsung ,why didn't she let me talk or talked to me" as she is not minding it all either.He is so unaware that she is afraid and overwhelmed by all of this too.Again this is ASR with Arnav within we are talking about who "Arnav Singh Raizada ko kisi larki se koi Farak nahin Parta"(Not a single gal can affect ASR) lives in his own self imposed territory with NO ENTRY board outside of it.

His appeal itself is alarming for Khushi as she couldn't stop this jealousy over La's imposed love for ASR but surprisingly wasn't unnoticed by him either as he is watching every move,every expression,every inch of her and that's what is itself a bafflement for him as well as for her.

It seems so difficult for them so say even Good Buy today.As she is leaving and he is looking at her as his life is going away is just an awww moment.His eyes are saying"Mat Jao"(Don't go) and it seems she is expecting him to say something may be' "eik minute ke liye to ruk sakte hain "'(I can stop for a while).Longing and hankering with magnetized pull is so on but they are missing the train in "phele tum'phele tum' egoistic way'...😆

Pause here: At this point he wants to talk to her, acknowledge her,justify himself to clear misunderstandings but she does not want to take any wrong cue because of their past encounters which is misleading her in her perceptions.

Look at this pic all four have Thals but three of them have water but Anjali's one'..As every one is finishing the rasam and getting Jal(water) and food to break their fast but her lifeless eyes are on the way for her husband...

Love the way Akash was wishing to give Payal water to break her fast..aww just adoring'and indeed Diya is enligted in her too today'.At the top she responded him with sweet look as she was leaving..awww😉

La's look to Khushi and reminding her aukat from her eyes like she is saying, "better stay away from my man'" (because she is observing her and her man's LOOK on her during whole Pooja'.)...

Mamiji and her expressions were just plain awesome today, She should be named as "Clowness of expressions"

Where one side is indulging the temptations ,other side a shadow of deception is at the door step of this Mandir and the moment Khushi and Payal leaves the steps of Mandir those steps are ready to step in'...What a contrast'...😡.Anjali,"Hum to bas inka intizar kar rahain hain"(I am waiting for him) says buy to Khushi and Payal.Her eyes are teary ,her heart is heavy,but her hope "Who bas aate hi honge"(HE will be here in any seconds) is keeping her on her toes.Mamaji and everyone wants her to break her fast as its getting late but she refuses after all she is Stubborn as all Raizadas are...

Pause here; She showed this stubbornness while bringing Khushi in to train La and Shyam took advantage of her nature to bring himself back in RM

"Jub tak yeh nahin aa jate tab tak hum ppoja karein gey"(I will do pooja until he comes) It seems she wants to see the strength of her Faith in God.While she is doing Pooja a breeze of assurance touches her face and he is here... Love the scene both brothers are right besides her when he enters in the background.She looks at him and then thanks to Bhagwan'...She steps towards him and leaves everyone behind...

Pause here: She did the same as she embraces Shyam back in RM and did not listen to anyone.She indeed had a blind faith in him and she lost everything in it.

"Hum aapka bharosa kaise tor sakte hain'...RANI SAHIBA:(How can I break your trust in me) and here we go Mystery of Shyam and Rani Sahiba is being solved but true TEST of everyone is yet to start '...

She notices his injury and gets upset along with Saley Sahib.(Aww these relations are going to be so bitter')...

"Sab se phele hum Paani pila kar Rani Sahiba ka Varath kholna chahte hain"(First I want to break the her fast with WATER.The same water which was missing from her Thal sometimes before and now is giving her new life.She makes him wear Raksha Dhaga for protection.
Pause here: She refused Khushi to tie it on her wrist from her at that time when she needed the most against this venom who is protected by her blindness.

The honey tongue is spreading its venom with honey all over and at the most PURE place in "MANDIR". Deception with his lies and deceits fully equipped with armors of sweetness has indeed entered the lives of PURE hearts where God lives in full swing either its Anjali or Khushi.Even Arnav who is atheist but is well protected by eternal Power prayed by his MOM who is besides him ALL the time...

Truth and honesty always ready to nip the deception from its buds as Khushi forgot her Thal again and coming towards it'..(Surely she will be the one who will destroy this deceit with her purity once and for all...but after some price...)

i do not believe in rituals, but there was something sacred in those moments up there. and their interludes were indeed poetry, saying like great poems much more than what's apparent to the eye. you had to listen with your heart.

not too many television shows bring this level of communication. for this i really thank each and everyone involved with this show. i've been thinking about 40, and there's a conch shell blowing through it, and red rising, a man walks before all with a woman in his arms, taking her responsibility, making her his own, being hers. but neither he nor she really know it, perhaps that's the beauty of it all.

episode 40

i have no idea what the soul really is or if it exists at all. but something other than the material does indeed fill our universe. it was in his eyes, his arm around her so gentle and caring, his hand reaching out to support her head as he held the glass of water to her lips. "khushi... khushi..." he called, a bit beside himself with worry. but her last words to you had been harsh and full of accusations about the kind of man you are. yet, you look at her with eyes that only worry and care.

she hadn't kept a fast willingly. but it was someone's will. he wasn't meant to open her fast with the first drops of water, but looked like something or someone had meant it to happen just that way. sindoor smeared them both by a holy tree where wishes hang on ties full of faith. by shiv parvati's temple, he completed the task entrusted to husbands, and she drank the water before remembering to protest. 108 years had parvati waited for shiv to come to her, there was a sense of their fulfillment in those seconds that he held the glass to her lips, and she let the water flow into her.

when she had had her fill, her focus restored, she was upset with him for ruining her fast. but i wonder, khushi, would you have just taken a glass from a perfect stranger then and drunk something without knowing what it was? or is it that your senses beyond the counted five knew this was no stranger? knew he was to be trusted? knew that water was to be given by him and none else?

water. one of the four elements. and the elements play a central role in iss pyaar ko. not by accident surely, the name of the larger than life, riveting man around whom this story revolves, is arnav, ocean. water in the end is perhaps the most assertive element of all, dousing even fire. and since we are talking about shiv, can't help but remember it was in his locks that he captured the waters of ganga and then let her flow. of water and its shore, happiness, a tale unfolds. and their ebb and flow toward and away from each other is mesmerising as ever.

he comes to her, she rests against him, she resists, and turns away. again a spell. no, it isn't time. stay still, be with him.

instead of thanking him for saving her, she of course berates him. since when do lovers have to behave within the bounds of normalcy. so off she goes. he is upset, "mujhe nahi pata tha ki tiumhara... tum behosh ho rahi thi," "i hadn't realised that you (were fasting, perhaps he meant to say)... you were about to faint..." she stalks away, but in seconds she's dizzy again. he comes yet again to catch her. swiftly, forgetting his anger, her unreasonable words... everything but...

they have the right it seems to be mad at each other and save and be saved byu each other too. only one relationship i have encountered that's like that in life. grimly, he tells her "pehle do kadam chalna sikho, phir mooh kholna," first learn to walk a couple of steps, then open your mouth. children shouldn't open their mouths. oh, he is angry. was there a little referenvce to her yelling at him the other day?

this time, no letting her go. he holds on. she's shocked, then her eyes change, they wonder, they wander. her hand clings to his jacket, his hand firm on her shoulder. the spinning has stopped yet they stand. and time pauses to take in the scene. he's looking at her, angry, but rapt. her hand was on his heart. what did it hear?

"i have always been fascinated by the ocean, to dip a limb beneath its surface and know that i'm touching eternity, that it goes on forever until it begins here again."

tears well up in her eyes. why? where do they come from? from a place of sadness? or of feelings that confuse her, that just ask to flow out and feel the sunlight, the air around? to breathe, to grow?

she steps away, and it's ebb again.

but the mind keeps flowing toward each other. the eyes won't rest till they see what they desire. heads turn, gazes shift, a current of awareness keep khushi and asr firmly tied to each other, on a day that is all about making and keeping ties.

beautiful direction and emotion play. and completing the episode many nuances of story.

"anjali ji, aap ki thaal... shayad galati se khushi ke paas aa gayi thi."
something of anjali's is with khushi by mistake. payal returns it to anjali, perhaps an indication that she will play a major role in rectifyingkhushi's galati.

"maaf kijiye anjali ji, par pata nahin kaise yeh aapki amanat hamare paas aa gayi"
pata nahin kaise... don't know how. this is so true of shyam's involvement with khushi. she didn't know the man found her attractive, she didn't know he was married, didn't know he was married to anjali. but khushi will keep anjali's "amanat" safely, as she says later, make sure it is returned to anjali. poignant, and truly sad for both the girls, this ungodly switch. if only it were just about a thaal.

"kabhi kabhi bado ki baat bhi maan leni chahiye"
finally, akash opens his mouth. his dream girl, his dupattewali stands there, his di has conspired to keep her back for the diya lighting, and now when it looks like there's a possiblity of the sisters stayiong back here for the puja and there's much yes... no... around it, the boy can't hold back anymore. he says what he has to. ooops, did his only mother hear his words?

"aur humka blouj ke pay-ttern bhi bahuthe achha laga... ekdam aircondisioned... jharokedar."
how to leave without paying tribute to and giving respect to one of the best dialogue giver in the show. lavanya didn't know what she got, a compliment or a censure? but mami seems quite determined to keep la happy, after all she might solve the problem of arnav bitwa's inconvenient bachelorhood. and since both are so good at giving "pets names," maybe another hot jodi is about to come together today in this very temple.

"aap janti hain na aapse kitna pyaar karte hain"
"you know how much i love you, don't you?" my first big peeve since show started. why this tacky "disguise" of shyam's voice? surely, with the hints dropped piling higher than khushi's mountain of jalebis, we all kinda knew who the guy was. poor anjali, waits there with full faith. so terribly dependent on this man, who perhaps by marrying her gave her a sense of herself. born with a disability, she was fragile enough, then had come the shattered the incident at sheesh mahal. and though we see the visible signs of taht tragedy in asr, the seemingly happy anjali remains fractured and fragile inside, her husband her crutch. i see chhote and yeh as her two mainstays. if either is taken out or messed with, anjali will feel the impact.

sfx: breeze swirls and rises, then envelops all...
did you hear the breeze over those first moments of episode as he stops her fall, pulls her close, lifts her in his arms and gazes at her? how full of thought, emotion, music. calling out to the ocean, tying water to the heavens above, heartbeat to heartbeat. some of the best dialogues in it, just listen.

During Pooja they both steal glances lovingly as she is more into pooja to get strength to face him and he is there with Anjali for Khushi.The blandishment to be around her and to keep her around is getting a new dimension as he touches her unintentionally but don't mind to let go and this time his touch is creating havoc inside her as she is unfamiliar to this sensation.The enticement is written all over his face as he is observing her at every step which is again surprising him "Then why did she react like this at Satsung ,why didn't she let me talk or talked to me" as she is not minding it all either.He is so unaware that she is afraid and overwhelmed by all of this too.Again this is ASR with Arnav within we are talking about who "Arnav Singh Raizada ko kisi larki se koi Farak nahin Parta"(Not a single gal can affect ASR) lives in his own self imposed territory with NO ENTRY board outside of it.

His appeal itself is alarming for Khushi as she couldn't stop this jealousy over La's imposed love for ASR but surprisingly wasn't unnoticed by him either as he is watching every move,every expression,every inch of her and that's what is itself a bafflement for him as well as for her.

It seems so difficult for them so say even Good Buy today.As she is leaving and he is looking at her as his life is going away is just an awww moment.His eyes are saying"Mat Jao"(Don't go) and it seems she is expecting him to say something may be' "eik minute ke liye to ruk sakte hain "'(I can stop for a while).Longing and hankering with magnetized pull is so on but they are missing the train in "phele tum'phele tum' egoistic way'...😆

Pause here: At this point he wants to talk to her, acknowledge her,justify himself to clear misunderstandings but she does not want to take any wrong cue because of their past encounters which is misleading her in her perceptions.

Mamiji and her expressions were just plain awesome today, She should be named as "Clowness of expressions"

Where one side is indulging the temptations ,other side a shadow of deception is at the door step of this Mandir and the moment Khushi and Payal leaves the steps of Mandir those steps are ready to step in'...What a contrast'...😡.Anjali,"Hum to bas inka intizar kar rahain hain"(I am waiting for him) says buy to Khushi and Payal.Her eyes are teary ,her heart is heavy,but her hope "Who bas aate hi honge"(HE will be here in any seconds) is keeping her on her toes.Mamaji and everyone wants her to break her fast as its getting late but she refuses after all she is Stubborn as all Raizadas are...

Pause here; She showed this stubbornness while bringing Khushi in to train La and Shyam took advantage of her nature to bring himself back in RM

"Jub tak yeh nahin aa jate tab tak hum ppoja karein gey"(I will do pooja until he comes) It seems she wants to see the strength of her Faith in God.While she is doing Pooja a breeze of assurance touches her face and he is here... Love the scene both brothers are right besides her when he enters in the background.She looks at him and then thanks to Bhagwan'...She steps towards him and leaves everyone behind...

Pause here: She did the same as she embraces Shyam back in RM and did not listen to anyone.She indeed had a blind faith in him and she lost everything in it.

"Hum aapka bharosa kaise tor sakte hain'...RANI SAHIBA:(How can I break your trust in me) and here we go Mystery of Shyam and Rani Sahiba is being solved but true TEST of everyone is yet to start '...

She notices his injury and gets upset along with Saley Sahib.(Aww these relations are going to be so bitter')...

"Sab se phele hum Paani pila kar Rani Sahiba ka Varath kholna chahte hain"(First I want to break the her fast with WATER.The same water which was missing from her Thal sometimes before and now is giving her new life.She makes him wear Raksha Dhaga for protection.
Pause here: She refused Khushi to tie it on her wrist from her at that time when she needed the most against this venom who is protected by her blindness.

The honey tongue is spreading its venom with honey all over and at the most PURE place in "MANDIR". Deception with his lies and deceits fully equipped with armors of sweetness has indeed entered the lives of PURE hearts where God lives in full swing either its Anjali or Khushi.Even Arnav who is atheist but is well protected by eternal Power prayed by his MOM who is besides him ALL the time...

Truth and honesty always ready to nip the deception from its buds as Khushi forgot her Thal again and coming towards it'..(Surely she will be the one who will destroy this deceit with her purity once and for all...but after some price...)

Even in episode 41 we saw them starting to fall in love when they did not even say that to each other in at least 250+ episodes. But the aura was always there and at the end of each track I was disappointed that they did not confess but then anticipated that they will in the next track. As in Heer Ranjha dialogue, jise ji jaan se chahtehe jab use akhon ke samne pate hain to akhe bolte hain juban nehi. I was thinking of those lines in context of episode 40 and 41.

Yes what a show. I loved the writing and script till the very end. Yes especially if we connect it when they were stealing gazes at each other
