He has always had hit films and good performances. With the exception of 2000, 2001, 2007 he had atleast one hit film every year. But he is in top 6 of Bollywood now. An his projects are awaited as much as any Khan/ Roshan/Kumar film. He also had cahonas to take on YRF/SRK on and off screen lol😉

So when did he become a superstar?

i dont think company,quayamat,apharan were hits 😕 may be average/below average !but if even its average then ajay has been hell consistent 😲
