I generally read this form mostly because of the stories that few members post and the episode videos. We don't get Life OK and I am much much older than you guys are and definitely you guys put a smile on my face. I am tempted to post today.. the balancing act by Parvathi.

When you have kids and are lady of the house , lot of things needs to managed. She is a daughter, wife, mother ,owner of the house and a lover. It is her job to maintain all the relationships and make sure every one is felt important. Here Parvathi also is the same. It doesn't matter if you are adishakti at the end of the day you are one of these characters you play. She will play it to the core. So that it becomes an example to the world.

In all this, she is lost.. her essence is lost. She remembers it when she sees him. She craves for his attention. After all all these relationships are due the fact she is his WIFE.. taking care of everything buries the very relationship between husband and wife. Often times, I notice, when me and my husband are talking, it is always about kids, or house or college fees or bill somewhere or taking care of in-laws. Where are we in all this? Granted we are not newly weds , I am not even looking romance, I am looking for loving words. Also think about it.. playing all these roles the lover role got away from her. When is the last time both of they sat down and played a game of dice or went for a walk or even danced together.

Parvathi has attained the midlife in this relationship. Does it matter to Shiva that she is not well adorned? Did he even notice? It doesn't matter to him or am I not beautiful any more? Does he not find me attractive any more? I know he loves me or Does he? Why can't he tell me how much he loves me once in a while? Every once in a while couples need to renew their relationship. The renewal of intimacy, energy and eternal love. Remind each other what they mean to each other. Wife needs to hear and feel husband's love. That's where she derives her energy to play the numerous roles. A smile from him, a hug from him and remember actions speak louder than words.. 😊. What makes a husband more happy than to see his loving wife smiling and happy. After all he is happy only when she is happy.

Parvathi being soundarya moorthy she is and Shiva being the ananda moorthy he is.. this divine shringara is captured in the Soundarya Lahari written by Adi Shankara himself.

I am ranting now.. but I just loved the fact when even supreme deities are not spared of the maya moha of the samsara. Just lets one know, how difficult it is to attain salvation..

Very very true... I can relate 100%to what you are saying. And if you are in a traditional joint family, surrounded by various family members, where's the talking b/w husband and wife also?

Among all the Gods, only Shivji has his family. He lives his family life well thanks to Parvati who loves him, adjusts with him, inspite of being Jagat mata, her role as a wife, a mother is important to her. Every girl, woman, can identify herself with Parvati at various stages. Her feelings before marriage, how strongly she wanted only Shivji as her life partner, convincing her mother, initial adjustments after her marriage wich never stops, how well she handles all the challanges coming her way etc, makes Paravti a perfect role model as long as she displays her human side. When she is Aadi shakti, she is the Supreme power. I guess at some stage we all want to be as strong minded, soft hearted like her.

Regarding her beauty, all the verses of Saundaray Lahari are so powerful, having deep spiritual meaning, are capable of solving many problems, besides describing her beauty.
She is the best example of divine beauty for all her children including us & most beautiful for her husband.

ahh... well said.. my dad used to tell me it is easy to be sanyasi.. it is very difficult to be a grihastha.. I asked my grandmother, she is a Devi her self, she can create this universe by mere thought.. why would she need to physically cook. She told , so that we all know what a wife needs to know. She is so beautiful she doesn't need any ornament and yet she wears them all. Lead by example I guess.. In south india, before marraige every girl will do gauri pooja, on empty stomach. She will keep doing the kumkum pooja to mother Gauri till she is called for the actual marriage ritual. I guess we invoke ma parvathi in ourselves so that we have the shakti to bear the hurdles the married life is about to throw at us.

when we read any of her stotras.. she is described as all the above roles.. from the softest form to the destroyer of the shrushti.
