Urmila Matondkar

I have heard about the bird flu and I have stopped eating chicken completely at home and outside, too. It is too big a disease to take a risk. In fact, I asked my maid to throw away whatever chicken had been bought earlier, which was quite a bit.
Favourite chicken dish: Chicken makhanwala.
Bipasha Basu

I am not eating chicken or eggs. Everyone should take precautions. Anyways I am more of a fish eater. My chicken intake is for protein intake only, not for taste. I do not like chicken very much.
Favourite chicken dish: Nothing in particular.
Emraan Hashmi

I eat only chicken but since the outbreak of the bird flu I have stopped chicken completely. Since Sunday, I haven't had chicken at home or outside. I had a slight stomach upset and that got me even more psyched that I stopped eating chicken. Normally, when I eat chicken, I like it non-oily and fresh. I don't eat refrigerated food.
Favourite chicken dish: Butter chicken.
Bhushan Kumar

(producer, T-Series)

I have heard about the bird flu and it's very sad that it's taking so many lives. I am a pure vegetarian and as a precaution, I have started eating food at 100 per cent vegetarian places and at home only vegetarian food is cooked.
Ayesha Takia
I'm not getting so much affected by this entire episode of bird flu as I don't thrive on chicken. As a precautionary measure, I've banned chicken from my kitchen. And as far as eggs are concerned I have never really been fond of it. And I have nothing to complain as there are other good and healhy stuff to eat including fruits, vegetables, fish and mutton.
Favourite chicken dish: Nothing in particular.
Amrita Arora
I know that it's a fatal virus and there is no possible cure as such.

Chicken and eggs are a no-no and we are surviving on fish. Instead of panicking one should consult with a family doctor and take adequate measures.
Favourite chicken dish: The chicken curry that my mom cooks is the best.
David Dhawan
The whole of Mumbai is talking about bird flu. Ab mein pura vegetarian ho gaya, at least for some time. We have stopped eating outside also. I love eggs and haven't stopped eating that. They have said that if one boils and eats them, then they are safe. But I am sure this bird flu will get over soon. It's not permanent. If it is, I don't know what I will do.
Favourite chicken dish: Mandarin chicken.
Uday Chopra
We have given up eating chicken completely at home. I don't normally don't eat outside too much, especially dinner, so that's not a problem. I am not a chicken fan as I prefer mutton or fish.

But I love eggs, though, and I miss them as I have stopped eating them since the news of the bird flu because I would rather be alive than dead. I was watching the Oprah Winfrey show where they said that no vaccine has been discovered as yet as the virus strain keeps mutating in the human body. There is so much conjecture happening. The government should inform the people what precautions should be taken.
Favourite chicken dish: I love grilled chicken and chicken Nando that you get at InOrbit Mall, Malad.
Karan Johar

Yes I am aware about the bird flu. My mom has driven me up the wall by giving strict instructions not eat chicken anywhere — at home or outside. I am distraught as my food habits are shattered. Unfortunately, the only non-veg food I eat is chicken. When I enter my kitchen I only see vegetables staring me in the face! One should avoid eating chicken till things get back to normal.
Favourite chicken dish: Chicken roast, chicken gravy, butter chicken, chicken tandoori — chicken in any form.
Shah Rukh Khan

According to gossip, he gets by only on tandoori chicken and Pepsi. We messaged him about the bird flu, but he preferred not to reply. Maybe he has gone into mourning…
Ajay Devgan
I have heard about the bird flu and have completely stopped eating chicken and eggs at home and outside.

As far as precautions are concerned, I have spoken to our family doctor and he's said as long as we are not cooking chicken at home and the chicken is well-cooked, it's okay to have it. But we are still avoiding it. I miss eating it, though, and have substituted it with fish for the moment.
Favourite chicken dish: No favourites. I love chicken dishes in any form and variety.
Koena Mitra

I know that it can take the shape of any epidemic and there is not adequate medical assistance in Maharashtra. I was flying in Jet Airways; they were completely ignorant about the outbreak and were serving chicken happily. And when I briefed them about, it my co-passengers who had been relishing their meal started jumping out of their seats. I'm so scared that I've taken it off from the menu of my pet dogs.
Favourite chicken dish: It's homemade grilled chicken.
Manisha Koirala
I've stopped eating chicken and eggs ever since the bird flu scare has been splashed all over the news channels and press. It's definitely a cause of concern and I have strictly instructed my staff and everybody at home to stay away from chicken as long as this entire confusion settles down.
Favourite chicken dish: Stuffed chicken that I make at home.
Smriti Z Iraani
I actually had kept a fast for my temple visit in Dwarka wherein I had given up eating chicken completely. I just completed that and the bird flu news came out. I have given up on chicken due to the disease and also not allowing anyone at home to eat it.
Favourite chicken dish: Grilled chicken.
Mona Singh
I am going on a veg diet for the next 10 days. In fact all the dabbas on the Jassi set have been ordered to go veg. Everyone has been strictly instructed not to have any chicken for the next one month. I cannot bear to digest the fact that I will have to do away with my favourite food for a long time.
Favourite chicken dish: Tandoori chicken.
Nausheen Ali Sardar

Considering that it is happening in Maharashtra; I have taken all the necessary care.

Whatever chicken we had in the fridge has been chucked away. Last time when the bird flu was prevalent in the Far East, I had stopped eating chicken for quite a while, too.
Favourite chicken dish: Chicken tikka is what I simply dig.
Chetan Hansraj

I am a huge lover of chicken food. It's really sad that I have to give it up for the time being and turn vegetarian.
Favourite chicken dish: Butter chicken.
Manoj Bohra

This entire hullabaloo over bird flu is overly hyped. But in any case it's always better to be safe. I have been advising my girlfriend and all other friends to give up on chicken and eggs. A lot of them have been complaining but one must realise that you are not going to die if you don't have chicken. But everybody is quite conscious about it and the caterers on our sets have started serving fish instead.
Favourite chicken dish: I only thrive on eggs and not on meat.

Chicken on dost

Cezanne Khan
Yes, I have heard about the bird flu, but I haven't stopped eating chicken; and I won't. I love eating non-veg food. I am taking all the necessary precautions like overcooking the meat and cooking it till 70 degrees F as the doctors are advising. And as long as you don't handle the diseased chicken you will be okay.
Favourite chicken dish: Chicken tandoori.

Anuj Saxena
The bird flu is a viral infection caused by the excreta of the birds and it is quite lethal (this is the doc in him speaking!) One needs to take necessary precautions. I ate whatever chicken was in the house but I have asked the domestic helps not to buy eggs and chicken for some days. At present I am avoiding it absolutely — at least till the problem is over.
Favourite chicken dish: Chicken biryani and butter chicken are my favourites. Delhi Darbar (the one in town) serves the best.

Chicken sibling

Ekta Kapoor

I have heard about the bird flu but I eat only chicken. I love chicken and I won't give it up! I have heard that is you cook it properly then the disease won't get transmitted to you. So once the chicken is booked and cooked I am hooked.
Favourite chicken dish: I love chicken schezwan, chicken biryani, chicken curry — anything that has chicken in it.

Tusshar Kapoor
We have stopped eating chicken at home completely for the last three days. It's very difficult for me as I eat only chicken as it's light and tasty. My mom has been taking the necessary precautions at home. I am having eggs but don't know for how long? It's not a man-to-man transmitted disease as far as I have heard.
Favourite chicken dish: My favourite is chicken tandoori.
