Her:
Trapped.
Confined.
Darkness.
How does one get over being buried alive? That suffocating feeling, that horror, that utter helplessness. The feeling of never seeing daylight. The darkest of darkness. The coldest of cold. A kiss away from death.
Can innocence last throughout it? Can the shadow of fear ever be cast away?
What happens when you close your eyes in the night, in that solitude, the nightmare haunts you? You're back in that grave, unconscious with the grim reaper smiling his sadistic smile.
But the next moment you're in his arms and the darkness fades. He keeps it away. In his arms you find your solace. Nothing can go wrong there. His voice, his gaze, his concern.
You feel safe again.
Him:
Lost
Scared
Guilty
What happens when you're lost among your own emotions? Scared of the depth of some unknown feeling? Guilty of your own judgement?
Denial.
To not know oneself in order to protect oneself.
After all one cannot possibly feel something for someone they barely know. It's a deception of the mind, surely. Nothing has to change.
The emotions have to be subdued, suppressed, forgotten. That utter fear that gripped the heart when she didn't breathe. When her heart beat didn't drum against him.
It was in his head. He has to convince himself of it for his own sanity.
Life will go on as it always does.
Everything is still the same. She is still annoying and he still hates her guts. He will be darn sure to convince himself of it.
