Her face looked pale, her eyes looked stunned , there was no movement atall.

RK:- "BIWI …..Madhu" he screamed...then shook the life out of her. She closed her eyes and was still. He again called her name she did not respond she was still and not breathing. He started giving her CPR

RK:- Madhu what happened……you are faking it right….you want to get back to me for what I did to you….you know I cannot stand to see you like this, that is why you are doing this. Get up Madhu get up. He punched her chest 3 times in an attempt to revive her

He remembered he had felt her pulse a while back and it had been racing,

RK:- oh god He touched her neck to feel her pulse. It was feeble but it was there. He knew something was severly wrong. He rang up Bittuji and scooped her up in his arms. Bittuji met him in the lobby.

Bittuji :- Chief Kya hua Bhabhiji ko

RK:- Bittuji get the car out…she is unconscious,

He rushed to the door. In a second he was strapping Madhu in the passenger seat. The moment when he was locking er seat belt he felt her warm breath on his neck. He held her face with both hands and said

RK:- You cannot be this weak, you are strength and courage personified. If there is a woman on this earth whom I adore it is you. Dare not leave me, hang in there we will make it through this time also. Remember the highsea and keep in mind that I will not let you go. You are mine and mine for ever.

He knew she was hearing for he felt her breathing was stable now. He drove at record speed to reach JJ hospital. He had called Trishna and told her to reach the hospital with her parents.

He had called Dr. Sant Saran Trihan a leading physician on his way. Dr. Trihan was his class fellow Aniket's father who now was a very able endocrinologist.

Both the father son duo met them in the hospital lobby. Madhu was entered into the ICU without a seconds delay. They did not even wait for the paper work to be done.

The Dr asked if she had any prior conditions that they should be notified of. SM said she did not, Padmini intervened in saying she has diabetes type 1. SM immediately said but she takes insulin 2 units twice every day

She was immediately given oxygen and saline. Dr Trihan said

"given to her prior condition and her current state which indicates acute dehaydration I belive it is DIabitic ketoacidosis. It is a kind of coma that is triggered by dehydration, severe high blood sugar levels coupled with high level stress and shock. We are doing some tests. If every other parameters are normal this is a reversible condition. She should be good as new in just a couple of days.

The word Coma took the air out of RK's lungs. He looked at Aniket who was attaching all sorts of monitors to Madhubala's arms chest and to her forehead. She appeared lifeless and like a porcelain doll. She was flawless. Something about her gave RK the hope that she will be fine. Rishabh saw his parents rushing in towards the ICU. He did not wanted to see them at this moment a lot of this mess was because of them.

Aniket came to RK and said "Rishabh" RK did not respond. This name was an alien to him. Nobody addressed him as Rishabh. Aniket again said

"Rishabh It is reversible she will be back. She is not well right now but she will be healthy again. You too are a doctor Rishabh you know that don't you??"

RK was pulled back into reality. A doctor and he should know that , Oh yes he should have known that stress and shock could kill anyone. He had pulled her tensile strength to level where it could snap anytime. He was a doctor and he should have known. The problem here was he was no more a doctor. He had long back left those wonderful pathways and taken up these tinsel streets that only gave him instant gratification and instant gratification was all that he had been seeking these past few years.

He had altogether forgotten that there was a time, just couple of years back when he had studied medicine. He never completed his residency though. He was a topper at AIIMS New Delhi. He was commonly referred by patients there as a man with golden touch. He was lost he sat down on the chair in the gallery

Aniket was his batch fellow. They were very good friends actually they still are good friends. RK was a very sensitive and a passionate human being. He was loved by one and all. While he was in third year and it was the first time that they were allowed near real patients he met Dipali. She had got a fractured hand. She was a beautiful girl and was working in the film industry.She was there to get her broken leg treated. He asked

RK:- Hair line fracture. How did you manage to get that.

Deepali:- was shooting for my movie and this happened. I was ridding a bike and it skid.

RK :- You are lucky to escape with just this. Some in your situation might have got multiple injuries.

Deepali:- Oh really??

RK:- Yes , I have never seen you in any movie before.

Dips :- This is my first movie and it is such a competitive world out there I really cannot be here for long. I need to resume shooting asap.

RK:- Miss Dipali If you don't have to do anymore action scenes like biking ,hiking etc, you can resume shooting with a crape bandage on. In just a couple of days.

Dipali :- really

She hugged him. And from there on there love story began, she became dips for him and he became RK for her. He though never enjoyed this name but she insisted saying that this is how people address others in FILm industry.

They saw each other for 2 years. Deepali appeared to be devoted to him, there were never any rumors of Deepali's affairs in the media. As soon as her movie was completed she stoped coming to Delhi. Later her phones stopped coming and then she lost all touch with Rishabh. Rishabh tried to contact her but her phone always went on voice mail. Rishabh left messages after messages. He in his heart knew that what he thought was real was merely an illusion. He still kept his hope alive.

That day deepali and Sikander Bhatia had come to promote their first film together in Delhi. They were at Ansal Plaza, this was RK's only chance. He wanted to give it a closure. He went to Ansal Plaza. Deepali and Sikkander Bhatia were together with the media. He some how managed to cut through the mob and get closer to Deepali. Deepali looked at him and ignored him at first but then she thought he could create a scene so she wrote on a paper her hotel name and room number. She took Rishabh's hand in her's as if to give an autograph and wrote at it "see me at nine and tucked the paper in his pocket very slyly."

Rishabh felt something break around him or probably break in him. He knew he was going to meet her the last time. He just did not know how bad was going to be.

He went to Depali's room and knocked the door. Deepali let him in. He looked at her with questions in his eyes. Deepali said

Dips:- RK I am no more interested in you. I am marrying Sikander next month. Tommorrow we will announce our long kept secret to the media.

RK:- Long kept???

Dips :- RK 2-3 months is a long long time in this industry'..hahaha'baby we had a good time together and now it is over. Let us part on a good note with sweet memories.

RK:- dips?? Why??

He was running out of his breath

Dips:- RK look you are not my type but above all you don't have money.

She hit the nail right on the spot . she again said

Dips:- and don't tell me that as a doctor you will earn enough for the two of us. It wont be enough. You have your on world of illusions sorry ideals, cancer research najane kya kya ''and then the baggage of your past'..I cannot bear your cross baby''every single one of us have to bear our own crosses''So bye and before you go'..

RK cut in:- here are all the snaps that we ever got clicked, your letter cards, and your gifts, bye I don't want to see u again.

He left not with heavy steps but at raging speed. He drove back to his hostel and packed his bags and by morning he landed up back in Mumbai.
