Chapter 2B:
They were walking along the shore, hands still entangled.
Khushi was really happy now. As if, all of a sudden a magic was done on her. She smilingly looked at Arnav. But, he was lost in his own thoughts. He was sad, tensed...Something was eating him from inside. She felt, that she was being selfish now. He made her smile, made her forget those traumatic moments & she is doing nothing, just holding his hands & smiling crazily. Well, he's responsible for that state of hers'đ.
Khushi opened her mouth to ask him, but found it bit awkward...because maybe he won't like to discuss about his life. So, she hit upon a crazy idea.
As they were walking though waves, she splashed water, through her feet on Arnav's. Due to force, water splashed on his face too. Startled with sudden splash, he came out from his gloomy world. He looked at the culprit, who nearly drenched him. Khushi was smiling naughtily like a kid does, when he is caught stealing cookies. Arnav smiled at her naughtiness. Her smile somehow was helping him to recover from his gloom.
Then, he again looked forward & continued their walk. Khushi pouted, thinking her "Hardwork" went in vain. She then, turned her face towards the sea.
"Miss. Gupta!"
Khushi turned her face towards him only to be rewarded with salty splash of water. She was also drenched like Arnav now. She wiped the water from her face & saw smirking Arnav. Ah! So, water fight! And, there began their "water splashing" game. Both were drenching each other, smiling, laughing & shouting crazily. Finally, when they were tired, they sat down, their legs folded upto their chests...to breathe in some air.
They were still laughing, wiping themselves with their hands. They looked at each other, then looked towards the endless limit of sea. There was silence b/w the duo...until he spoke,
"I forgot that it was 5th anniversary of our first date. This was the date, when we went for first Date. *He chuckles* , I promised her that we would celebrate it in a grand way, but an important meeting sprung up, that was important for my career.She didn't hear to me & now...Its just not one day, it happens almost everyday!", He said, tears filling up his eyes.
He continued, " I don't know what's wrong with us? She was never like this before marriage...But now, she...Sometimes, I really doubt myself Khushi", He finally said her name & broke down. He was really missing those special moments he spent with La. Khushi, put her hands on his shoulder. She turned him towards herself and gave him a tight hug.
Arnav could help it. He needed it. He wanted a shoulder to cry over. He immediately accepted her hug, cried really hard...Khushi, simultaneously, unconsciously caressing his back..It was, as if, two sad people sharing as well as were filling up each other's wound. Arnav snuggled more into her...and she more into him.
After sometime, they broke their hug...their eyes were swollen...and their hands rested on each other's shoulders. They stared at each other...Khushi nearing her face towards him...she was not in her senses today. Arnav understood this, and bought his closer to her's too. Suddenly, a thought of La, flashed in his mind.
What he was doing? He was ditching her . How can come closer to other girl?
"Miss Gupta", he called out.
Khushi got back to her senses. What she was doing? , she thought. She removed her hands from his shoulders, got up & walked back. She felt embarrassed.
He too got up and looked here n there. There was killing silence b/w the two. She softly spoke " Sorry! I am really very sorry! I don't know how I..."
"Erm..Its..Um..okay!", he assured. "Lets get out of here now"
It was 4:30am in the morning. Arnav and Khushi were sleeping in the garden, resting their heads on each other. Chirping woke up Arnav. He looked here n there & noticed their position. It was almost time, when people usually come for walking...is would give them bad impression. So, he quickly but softly woke up Khushi.
Before waking her up, he observed her face. It looked like a baby! He smiled and then shook her to wake her up. She slowly opened her eyes, then stretched herself a bit & gave a cute smile to Arnav. He smiled back & said-
"Good Morning! Miss Gupta!"
He continued.. " I think you should go home now...before your husband notices about your absence."
Khushi made a disgusted face. But, yeah! She has to go back to that hell. Also, she need to prepare herself for interview. She got up & started walking towards her home with Arnav escorting her. They spoke nothing & walked through silent streets. Finally, she reached her destination. She moved towards the main gate, but then, turned around and came near him. She stood there with her heads down & then spoke softly,
"Mr. Raizada! Whatever happened last night...", she paused.
"I am sorry for...I... ", she stammered.
Arnav understood her disturbed condition of mind & smilingly replied -
"It happens! " :-)
Khushi felt much relieved now. She smiled at his gesture and click opened the door when she heard him saying -
"All the best Miss gupta for ur interview! May you succeed"
She looked back and gave him a broad smile. Finally, there was someone who was supporting her!
