QH raises an important question and I am actually confused as to what is the right thing to do in this case..

1. A raped woman - should she be married off to the same guy? What should parents do in such a case?

Rape is an heinous crime. And the offender deserves the most horrible punishment possible.

But going by the reports and various studies, women who are raped it is the mental torture that takes a toll on them. Mental torture- that is a result of society's pressure.

I realize one thing, for the victim it is crucial that society accepts her , treat her normal .. let her be!

But that doesn't happen here. Getting raped is a big thing in conservative societies and woman end up becoming an outcaste.

I am at dead end, I don't know what to think. In QH given the background, I am just trying to owner if parents were indeed wrong. What should a parent do in such a case??

Stand by the daughter? knowing you have multiple other daughters to be married off. Knowing your daughter may never be married and has no hope for a normal married life?

Don't misunderstand me. I am not saying that marrying her off to that sick man is alright. NO! He needs to be punished.

BUT really, what do you do if you are a parent stuck in a conservative society. Living a life of pariah is not always an answer?

i'll never suggest to marry that guy rather fighting to get a normal life with other guy and change the society

Hmm .. and that requires unwavering support of the family. I know this is how it should be but the society doesn't let it be.

If you are poor, and want to live life you would want to be in harmony with neighbours :(

I think mostly women end up committing suicide in villages.

They can't marry the bast***, or the guy wudn't marry them in the first place... family responsibilities..

blot on the family.

Was reading somehwere, even in US the rape offender arrest success rate is 24% .. actual punishment rate is much lower 😭

I wonder.. what's the way out. Fighting needs strength of character and not everyone is that strong.

My heart goes out to people who are struggling for various things in life ..

I just don't have an answer to this ques.. not yet.. but agree to your viewpoint.

The parents were only thinking of THEIR izzat , THEIR hornor, THEIR Name and that for them is the girl's Hymen...if it gets broken then it is the end of the world

Well in such case I think parents should give girl a time to recover and marry her only if she wants to No religion allows a forced marraige but who cares once married is married knda thing happen in such society

So best way is to give the girl a time to herself.If something like this happens in a common conservative family ...then I feel that family does not remain the same common family...its becomes uncommon and its God s will on them to take care of such girl and her sibling too r vested with a responsibility

A responsibillty to support their sister ,then only they r worthy to be called true siblings...I know its hard to do so ...but then its the courage of family and the girl that is needed in todays society to give such cheap rapists and their direct and indirect supporters on their face

in the conservative as well as the mordern society the biggest thing for a family is their honour. Everything, even their own childrens life, happiness comes after that. And mind you what they showed in the show is something what actually happens in the society.and the sad part is you cannot contribute to the change unless the people themselves are ready to change their mind set. Nothing can be done untill people stop looking down upon women, their own daughters..and actually punish the guys who commit such crimes.

The parents weren't right to get the daughter married to the rapist. The girl would not be able to easily forget the trauma and live a happy life with the person who raped her. The very presence of such a person in her life can be a traumatic experience for her. And a person, who did not have any respect for that girl and went to the extent of raping her will not respect her even in their married life and keep her happy. So definitely marriage to the rapist is not a solution. The parents should instead support their daughter and help her to deal with the trauma, which is more important than trying to save the family's so-called honour...

In a conservative family and community like this there were not much options left to the family but they were options, this family just chose the easy way out.{marriage to this animal}. they could have send her to live in a convent, or even to live with other family members.

I just hate when people make excuse for these situations, " oh we had no choice we had to get them married" give me a break , did anyone think what that girl life would have been like. hell no they were just thinking about themselves.

Sorry i sound a little bitter, one of my friend was rape by a family friend and even those she was against it she finally gave in to family pressure n married the beast, on the wedding day the mother of the bride was so happy i wanted to strangle her,two months into the marriage she drank poison, in her note she stated that having him touch her was like being rape all over again.

Anyway back to the question these parent could have choose to stand by their daughter. I was proud they way in which Zoya handle the situation. sometimes in life u just have to take a stand and deal with the consequences later.
