The small screen doled out the same old boring stuff for a major part of 2012. However, there was some saving grace in the form of Aamir Khan's critically-acclaimed talk show Satyamev Jayate, a joint venture with Star TV, which also led to a collaboration between the private network and Doordarshan and Sur Kshetra that brought together Indo-Pak singers such as Asha Bhosle, Abida Parveen and Runa Laila on a common platform.

But 2013 promises to provide well-rounded entertainment.

Suhasi Dhami will play the new-age bahu in Housewife Hai...Sab Jaanti Hai

Same same but different
Sony explores the lives of an "ordinary couple leading an extraordinary life" in Amita Ka Amit (January 14). Zee's tribute to homemakers — Housewife Hai…Sab Jaanti Hai — could well set off a trend that looks at the saas-bahu relationship through a different prism.

The article mentioned that its a not totally new story but the angle of the story between a saas and bahu would be different. In most shows, we would be seeing the saas wanting their working bahu to resign and remain at home and look after the family. But here, the saas wanting her to go to work just for her salary is something different 😊

Lets hope the show gets a message across to the viewers. I dislike the way some MILs treat their DILs.

And the way some want them to stop working however there are some that don't for their own reasons.
