The discussion was PURELY about box office and who is responsible for Dhoom 3's success/anticipation. Where does acting and quality figure in here? Why do you people bring different parameters into play?

3 Idiots is great due to its theme and content.

Point is about Salman and brand Dhoom (if they had come together). If he could take a film to 199 cr on his own strength then imagine what he'd have done if he had added advantage of a franchise like Dhoom with him.

It was about what a star can add to a film's box office prospects by virtue of his presence. And by that parameter Salman definitely adds more. He's not dependent on existing appeal of an established franchise, ensemble cast or some universal social issue.

No need to talk of quality. Remember the past also if so intent on talking quality! Aamir's Raja Hindustani is a rubbish compared to Salman's HAHK and MPK - in every respect!

Dhoom 3 will be biggest hit, but it's Aamir who depended on franchise. D3 could've been equally anticipated and equally huge with any A-lister in it. FYI, fan clubs for D3 had existed online even before it was known whether it would be made or not. That's the power of the franchise's own popularity.

Will watch it, but not interested.
