I've been noticing a lot of issues between people recently. So before the next episode this Thursday, we need to discuss this!I understand that there is a difference of opinion among us all when it comes to characters we love, characters we hate, couples we ship and couples we do not ship. But does that give us the right to tell others who they should like and who they shouldn't? No. But unfortunately, members have been doing that. Members have been outright declaring fans of a certain couple or character dumb, or unintelligent. Who are you to decide that? Who are you to tell someone that they can't ship a character or a couple? If you have something to say, be open minded, civil and non-bashing. Expect the other member[s] to reply back to you. Expect them to agree. Expect them to disagree. Don't moral policy. That's the DT's job. Only the DT decides if someone is going out of line or not. You don't tell them that. You can't tell someone that what they're saying is wrong, it can cause problems in the forum. If that is the case, report it and let the DT decide what needs to be done with it. Also, if you do disagree with a post, there are many ways to voice your opinion.
"This post is ridiculously dumb. A week ago, you were supporting this very character, now you hate her! Double standards. That's what I think this post is all about." --> NO! Just because a member supported a certain character a while ago, and now doesn't, does not give YOU the right to go and point fingers at them. They can change their mind if they'd like.
"A week ago, you liked this character. Could you explain to me what exactly made you change your mind? I'm slightly confused about where you're coming from." -->> YES! Doesn't that sound better? Much nicer? You can expect the topic maker to reply back you, in that very same tone, respectfully.. Correct?
Healthy discussions are possible. Members just need to learn how to voice their opinion.
Now, let's give that a shot here in this thread shall we? I need feedback regarding healthy discussions. Do you have any comments, questions, concerns, or suggestions? All are welcome. But be open minded of others when you post!
