How can one contestant judge another?

The feisty Narayani Shastri's shocking exit from Nach Baliye 2 has snatched headlines and distressed many. Despite the fact that she is seething with rage, the dusky livewire projects a brave front to the world. So does her cool dude boyfriend Gaurav Chopra. In this exclusive chat, Narayani bares her heart and talks about the exit and how she hopes to bounce back.

How was your experience with Nach Baliye 2?
It was ok. There were lots of ups and downs in the show. It was like a roller-coaster ride.

Your exit was one big anticlimax. What do you think about this new rule?
Pathetic. How can a contestant be a judge and rule out another contestant? It makes no sense to me. Why are judges there if someone else is doing their job?

Are you upset over your sudden exit from Nach Baliye?
Honestly, I don't attach much importance to these things. This isn't the end of the world for me. Gaurav and I are happy with the love we got from the people. Tons of SMSs come to us everyday. I know people are surely going to react strongly against this episode when it goes on air.

Your experience with other contestants?
I don't have any friends, other than Shweta (Kawatra) and Manav. I knew Kirti (Gaikwad), but I cannot term her as my best friend. Hiten, Gauri, Hussain and Tina were unbiased. I'm confident that they must have voted in our favour.

According to you who would emerge as the winner?
There is still an option of a wild card entry. Ketki-Rashik or Gaurav and I can be back on the show. Hussain and Tina have a great chance as they have a tremendous fan following.

Any comments about your choreographers?
They are wonderful and sweet kids. They were also innovative and creative. I am sure they have a great future ahead.

When shall we see Narayani dancing again?
Whenever I get the right opportunity I will.

You did a Marathi film with Nana Patekar. Are you planning to act in any other film?
I generally take as it comes. I don't rush but prefer to wait for the opportunities that life must have in store for me.

What are the projects you are working on?
At the moment I'm doing a weekly Saanskar which is aired on DD. Meanwhile talks are going on regarding other projects.

What about Balaji Telefilms? Doesn't your kundli match with that of Ekta Kapoor?
It is very simple. I have done a lot of work under the Balaji's banner. I don't believe in these rumours related to kundli matching and all that stuff. Maybe it's Ekta's ego and my self-respect that is keeping me out of Balaji.

Any plans about marriage with Gaurav in the near future?
Not as yet. We both have lots of things to explore and learn. It will happen sometime but certainly not in the near future.
