Prologue
He could feel her seething eyes on him, following him as he moved through the crowd with the beautiful model Jacqueline on his arms. He could feel the anger as if it was a palpable thing. He ignored the glares and walked with Jacqueline towards the dance floor.
He placed his hand on Jacqueline's waist and pulled her closer roughly eliciting a gasp from her. They breasts smashing on his chest, her hips smashing against his. He firmly placed his hands on her hips and swayed with the music, still feeling the intense glares on his back. He did not care though. She did not matter enough in his life, and she needed to know that. A hand creeping down his chest made him forgot all about the glares. He knew where that hand was heading, and even though the dance club was jam packed, he was not one for public displays. Plus, he was just doing this to teach her a lesson. Jacqueline was attractive but he was not interested in her in that way. He looked back to see that she had disappeared. He looked around, but he could not find her anywhere. He ripped Jacqueline's hands off him, quitting the facade, leaving her whiplashed. Then, he went in pursuit of her, he had to find that crazy girl before she did something stupid.
He found her outside walking away from the dance club. "Khushi," he screamed as he walked towards her.
"Where the hell do you think you are going?"
"Leaving, clearly you do not need me here so what is the point of my staying?" Jealousy has burned through Khushi like acid burning though her skin when she had seen that woman on Arnav's arm. She may not have feelings for him but when she had watched him dance with her so closely she had felt such embarrassment and humiliation. She may not have feelings for him, but that did not mean she liked seeing him with other women. He had made it blatantly clear that he did not want her in any way.
Not to mention how embarrassed Khushi felt among those western clothed girls, while she was there in a sari. People had looked at her strangely too, and she had felt so awkward. So why would she have stayed at the club? To embarrass herself further?
"The point is that I am stuck with you, just like you are stuck with me for the rest of our lives. The point is that di asked me to take you, so I HAD to take you," he said emphasizing the had part.
Khushi winced as his words stung.
"Then don't marry me. If you cannot even stand my presence then why bother," she screamed alarming the bouncer. He got into position in case he needed to step in. Khushi lowered her voice, "why Arnavji. Why marry me then?"
"We both know I do not have any option. So what is the point of bringing this up again. Why don't you back out of this sham of a marriage?" His dada had promised Khushi's dada that they would get married years ago when Khushi's family and his family used to be neighbors. Arnav's dada became rich overtime, while Khushi's family stayed poor. After Arnav's dada died, their families saw less and less of each other. Arnav had not even known Khushi until a few days ago nani and di had told him of his future marriage of a Khushi Kumari Gupta.

Hey guys, I am back after a very long hiatus. I don't know if you even remember me anymore. Anyways, I have been very busy with studies and grad school applications and what not. I felt an urge to write something today so I started again. It's short because I don't know if I will continue this yet. If I get enough likes or replies than I might. 😉 You know what to do. If you guys seem to like it a lot then I will update again tomorrow. Otherwise, I am back to doing boring homework and classwork. 🥱
Anyways, here is my writing index (some of the things are incomplete because I had to leave them since I got really busy with studies, but the OS's and the SS's are done.)
