Yes, its me again. Not to worry worry, I have taken a 'longish' break from bashing.😆

There are certain aspects of the development of Arhi's love 😳 and relationship that raises some interesting points. Hope to cover them in a series of threads.

The 1st one if around loyalty and commitment.

Right when when Kushi is engaged to Shyam and Arnav is going to get engaged to Lavanya we can see that Arnav and Kushi are slowly but surely falling in love. Its for the first time they become aware of their own feelings for each other. Of course they are in denial, Arnav uses anger as a defence mechanism.

But my question is whether it is okay for 2 pople who are already committed to others to fall in love with other people? Of course Shyam was a conniving and cheating 🀬, but in certain way didn't Arnav and Kushi do what we accused Shyam of doing, may be at a much lesser scale?

P.S- My personal opinion is that there is never a wrong time to fall in love, its better to break things off with someone you are seeing or committed to, than living a life of misery and unrequited love.

It's complicated
People can be comitted and still fall in love and that is what happened to Arnav
And Khushi too gave in to instincts though she had no intentions of cheating on Lavanya
Love cannot be explained by logic
Having said that, it is in one's hands to clearly let the partner know of the intentions and telling them they are not in love with the other person
Which is what Arnav did
And Khushi too tried to be happy for La
But in Shyam's case he lied, hid, connived
Again there is the angle of love and lust
Shyam's bordered on lust for Khushi
For Arnav it was attraction and some feelings which he did not know was love
Actually I agree
better to break off than live in misery and make others miserable
Having said that, this never happens in real because people are bound by various reasons even when there is no love: such as society, family etc
That's why they say
har kisi ko nahi milta yahan pyaar zindegi mein
and agar mila bhi
It is a big thing if they have the guts to go with it against the odds
which finally arnav did by breaking off with La
Unlike shyam who cheated till the end

As to the first bit of your post , I am glad😆...
As to the question you've raised I'd say it depends on perspective rather than on the rightness of things .if we are watching or are sympathetic to the two falling in love , naturally the concept of true love and follow your heart etc etc wins out but from the perspective of the other party we'd be inclined to mull betrayal and disloyalty ...it's all relative ...

Basantji, please no longish breaks from you. Evaar.

So yes people fall in and out of love, and yes sometimes people are already in committed relationships when this happens. Its better to walk away from your commitment though before pursuing anything further. But before love, the initial phase is always attraction and the impulse to do something about this attraction.

If however, you act on this impulse it comes under cheating and there is no justification for that. Yes lust is a powerful thing but sorry. A cheater is a cheater.

Which is why I had issues with Arnav and Khushis almost kiss. Yes, it was a great scene, well enacted...but the underlying message didn't sit right with me. Arnav lost control for a minute and pursued her and Khushi forgot he was a taken man there and welcomes his advance...that phone call snapped them back to reality otherwise they had forgotten all about his and La's relationship. That is wrong. Acting on your attraction while not coming clean to who you're with is always wrong. And the two of them were ready to act on their attraction.

So in that sense, being physically attracted to another person..then yeah its like Shaym but def on a smaller scale.

And yeah I agree, better to be out of a loveless relationship..more for the other person who doesn't know whats going on. They dont need to be led on and to give their love to someone who has a straying eye and isn't returning it.

I agree, in real lufe its difficult to break of even engagement let alone marriages. And I think IPK dealt that part very well, esp Kushi's hurt. Her break down post Desi Girl was a fab scene, sensitively handled. I loved her for not drowning herself in self pity unlike the other TV show leads and taking on life heads on.

well said, it depends on which side of the coin we see. If kushi was in Lavanya's place we would all be probably singing a different tune.

Totally agree with this...when love happens and is reciprocated in equal measure you need to go for it😃

Khushi is a the best female character on TV and I dont mind if people call me biased
It is my standing regret that Khushi's character was trivialised time and again with comedy
and her anguish got focus so rarely and so fleetingly
