I have been bullied but I would say it was not as bad as Imam being bullied, feel sorry for him when Rajeev screams at him and picks on him all the time.

I was bullied all my life in India mainly because of 3 reasons:

- I had an uncommon name
- My ethnicity
- Some unknown reason, probably my appearance

Even the teachers would make fun of my name, and when teachers do that it gives validation to others to join in. Funny thing when I moved to States, no one ever had any trouble pronouncing my name as much as the Indians in India did. Nobody even cares what part of India I'm from except the expat Indians themselves who I avoid as much as possible.

But yeah when I look back I realize how teachers tried to destroy my self confidence growing up. I was routinely thrown out of the class just because I couldn't give a right answer orr I was asking a fellow student for something. There was this one teacher who would tell me to kneel down in front of the class the moment she entered. A Hindi teacher often made fun of my Hygine and looks (I was on a lot of meds from birth so that made me look lethargic always), made kids write stuff about me on paper anonymously and read it aloud in the class (You can imagine what they would have written) etc. So yeah It wasn't just the name, it was a lot of things. I would not let my worst enemy go through Indian education system, its like a fascistic nazi death camp where if you don't meet a certain standard your soul should be crushed by all means. It seems like its rigged in favor of certain kids who are hand picked to get somewhere in life whereas the rest are destroyed just as they are struggling to build an identity for themselves.
