Hey guys I am new to Balika Vadhu forums. đ¤ I was very active on the Yeh Rishta forums years ago, Haven't really been very active since then. Hope I am welcomed heređ I have been watching the show on and off since the the grown up Anandi entry, but became avid viewer since the Anandi & Shiv Story kicked in I have been meaning to write my thoughts of this A & S dynamic but due to time constraints on my part haven't been able to make time to put down my thoughts. ( I know my intro session, kinda dragged on but thank you for bearing with me...I promise any future post will not drag on)đ
Anandi & Shiv..not so Ishq wala luv...but a deeper kind of luv the real and rare kind.
I know that the forums might divide into the pro S and Pro A sides, I fall somewhere in the middle. I thought that both are right and wrong in their place.
Anandi's hesitation is understandable, the girl had to process and adjust to a lot of new scenarios in a short span of time. Her perception of what love was a lie. She needs to rediscover the true meaning of love. Her 1st marriage was a life map planned out for her. She neither had a choice or a say. She was told this is your new life, this is your partner and this is who you are supposed to love. She grew up meeting the expectations that were made of her. She accepted her childhood friend as the love of her life, she made his dreams her's and she lived for him. To her that was the definition of love, until one day when she was yanked out of her dream world that she has built around Jagya and she watched it shatter around her. She was broken beyond repair, but she has left behind the shattered glass and tried to rebuild herself this time. While she was on this journey to find herself and to build herself back up in such a way that nothing can knock her down, come hail..come storm. When she found herself letting her foundation get weak, she found herself being held up by a strong base, who was also a ray of sunshine in her dark and gloomy days. He came out of nowhere and became her knight in shining Armour. Not only does she respect him, she also trusts him and put her faith in him because of this.
Anandi emotionally fought with herself, her past, her thoughts, her doubts, her fears and after burying it all she accepted that she wants to be happy and she wants to move forward with Shiv. Anandi saw the love Shiv had for her and accepted his love, when she accepted the anklets her gave her with his declaration. When she dumped the memorabilia's into the river that was her way of freeing herself from her past. After that she was smiling and reflecting on the moments she shared with Shiv. She felt liberated and the emotional baggage went too, by doing this she also make space for Shiv to make a place in her life. When she stood by Shiv she proved that she will be his rock and shelter as well.
During all the haldi,mehendi,wedding rituals Anandi has made it obvious that she made the right choice in Shiv. She looks at him adoringly, she understood his longing for her and trying to capture any stolen moments that he could. She was flattered by his attempt and enjoyed the attention her was giving her. I don't think she doubts or regrets even an ounce that Shiv is who she wants to be with.
She didn't have a single shed of hesitation when he has been in close contact with her before. They have been in close body proximity several times, she shared a comfort level with him. (when he lifted her a few times, when he put the bangles on her, when he put the ankets on her, when they shared the same plate to eat, when they fed each other,when she fell asleep on his shoulder on the long ride home from the wedding venue etcc..
She had a talk with Sumitra before the wedding, I think all us married girls can relate to questions and doubts in our mind before the big day. That was pretty normal. The real problem came when Shiv in his excitement without realizing the pressure he put on Anandi with his dreams and expectations. She was already nervous, anxious, scared and him kinda putting it out there didn't really help the situation. She wants to give herself upto him but she is not ready yet. She hates that she is not able to give him what she also believes that he deserves and is not wrong in expecting. She tried to give in but had cold feet at the door, her tear drops lying next to him also shows that she can feel his pain.
As a husband he has a right to love his wife and express it, but the thing is the both of them are coming from different places. It is easier for Shiv to feel comfortable enough to want to express his love for his wife, But Anandi has not verbally confessed, realized or acknowledged her feelings for him. (She does love him but doesn't know it yet). Shiv is a very thoughtful person so there is no doubt that he will give her the space and time to come around. He pushed for too much, too soon. He should have romanced her and let her get comfortable around him and the new surroundings. Today's episode was nice because they were headed the right way, they went out together, flirted a bit, they talked a bit ..this put Anandi at ease and let her put her guard down. She is comfortable with him and cares for him deeply, she just needs time to physically surrender herself to him. Emotionally she has almost given herself to him fully, only this confession about her hesitation was left that was shown in the precap. She breaks down in tears and falls down to her knees, it captures the defeat she accepted in the battle between her heart and mind.
I have a feeling Shiv is doing this intentionally and putting this pressure on her so she can break down her inhibitions and confess what she is feeling instead of avoiding this issue. He is a gem of a person, and no one understands her better than him. So him being oblivious even after the second attempt at SR was a bit off Character for him, but I feel like it is his plan to get her to open up about what is on her mind.
