If they are madly in love AND NOTHING ELSE MATTERED, they would be married to each other. They chose not to be. Once decisions are taken, you have to abide by them. A decision like getting married has consequences. And if you make them. you need to honor them. EVEN if the child is Arjuns (and I hope note), she took the decision to move away. Now she has to honor that decision.
