Next morning, Manvi slowly opened her eyes and stretched lazily. She realized she was on Virat's bed and the guy in question was missing from it. She heard him on the phone outside.

She sat up slowly, hugging her knees tightly. A wide smile crept on her face remembering last night.

Virat walked in, dressed up, ready to leave for work. He looked at her and smiled sweetly. "Good morning princess" he said as Manvi opened her eyes to look at him. He sat beside her, reached over and gave her a quick kiss. "College nahi jana hai?" he asked a blushing Manvi.

"Nahiii, let's bunk today Virat.." She asked with her sparkly eyes excited.

He couldn't look away from them. "Manvi? I never thought you will turn out to be such a wild one" he teased her.

"Kya matlab?" she looked at him innocently.

"Matlab, tum jitni boli dikhthi ho, uthi ho nahi.." he laughed. "Now, I really need to get going, I have a very busy day ahead so I want to get a head start. I will pick you up in the evening?" he said kissing her again, a bit longer. "This one's for the road" he said winking at her.

"Bye baby!" He got up touching her cheek with his hand.

"Tussi jaa rahe ho??" she said pouting, not letting go off his hand. She didn't want to leave him even for a minute and he is leaving her for the whole day.

He went back and pulled her into a tight hug. "Sweetheart, muje patients ko treat karna hai, kudh patient nahi banna." He laughed as she blushed. "Abhi yeh nakhre bandh karo aur jaldi se ready hojao. I have to go now." He said kissing her hand.

Manvi giggled and got out of the bed. She was in a mood to cook. She quickly made aloo parate, Virat's favourite and packed it up for him. She took a shower and left to college with Priya.

"Kya baat hai madam, chehre pe smile chipka huva hai?" Priya asked, noticing that Manvi seemed happier than usual.

"Kuch nahi yaar, bus aaise hi, kuch yaad aagaya, accha can you give this to Virat?" she gave her a lunch pack.

"Only if you tell me why you were blushing"

"yaaar, tum toh mere picche hi pad gayi??? Accha, I will tell you in the evening na. Don't forget to give this to him. Ok?" She warned her before she got dropped off at her college.

Priya smiled 'Beta, Virat, aaj toh tu gaya kaam se'

The whole day, Manvi couldn't stop thinking about him. She would randomly smile in the middle of the class. She had no idea what her friends were talking about. She closed her eyes and saw him singing to her, so passionately; she couldn't wait to go back to him. 'I am missing you like crazy Virat' she kept looking at her phone repeatedly. She called him like ten times, even though he didn't answer. When that didn't work, she texted him. He didn't respond. She then thought about how she didn't answer his calls the previous day and felt really guilty about it. 'He must have been so worried' she thought looking at her broken screen. Then it rang.

"Manvi, kya huva? Are you ok?" Virat asked her worried.

"Haan, mujhe kya hoga?" she asked.

"Kya? Then why did you call me so many times?"

"Aaise hi, you didn't answer the first time so I called the second time. You didn't answer the second time, so I called the third time. You didn't answer the third time, so.." she went on.

Virat was smiling amused. "hmmm..I was in surgery. But, on second thoughts, I think you probably need that brain surgery more than my patient.."

"aaise bologe Viraaat? Waise, I am sorry, you called me so many times yesterday and I didn't answer."

"Forget that. Tell me this, why did you call me in the first place?" he asked, tongue in his cheek.

"Kyu? Do I need a reason to call you? I was getting bored, and I thought you must me missing me, so I called." She replied with a straight face.

"accha? you called me thinking that I must be missing you. How thoughtful of you manviji! Abhi yeh bak bak bandh karo and pay attention to your classes." he said playfully.

"bas? aur kuch nahi kehna tume?" she was dragging each of her words.

"aur kya kehna? Kuch nahi.." he shut her off, very well knowing what she wanted.

"Viraaat!!! you are so boring.." she sulked.

Virat couldn't believe her. He was having such a hectic day and that was the first time he felt relaxed after he started working since morning. He chuckled "accha baba, I am missing you and I can't wait to come home to you. Happy?"

"You do?" She blushed. "Ok. Bye now, I have a class to attend. I am not jobless like you." She hung up.

'Silly girl! Wait a minute, did she just get me to call her and made me say I was missing her? Unbelievable!' he was shaking his head amused, walking into the cafeteria where his friends were waiting for him.

"Who is making you smile so much, mere bhai? Kis ki ithni himmath??" Rahul asked him.

Virat brushed him off and started eating the paratas "ummm..yum! wow Rahul, teri biwi aaj kal khaana badiya banati hai. Bada pyaar jalak raha hai." He winked at Rahul.

Rahul gave him a big smile with the expression 'you just walked into it brother.' "Waise, parate mere biwi ne nahi, aapke biwi ne banaya hai, khaas aapke liye. Aloo aur dare sare pyaaar ke saath." Rahul laughed winking back at him.

"How rooomantic!" everyone said together in a dreamy tone.

"Finally wicket down huh?" Priya teased him as everyone started laughing.

"Shut up guys!" Virat glared at Priya who was trying not to laugh.

After everyone left, Rahul asked him "Virat? You are serious about Manvi right? You realize it is not like your previous relationships. She is such a sweet girl Virat. I hope this will not end badly."

Virat looked at him equally concerned. He himself did not understand what he felt for Manvi. He knew Manvi is falling in love with him. He enjoyed spending time with her; he almost cherished every second of their new relationship. But, he never believed in forever kind of love. That was why he married Manvi when his mom forced him in the first place. He didn't believe in marriage or love. He never planned to get married or committed to anyone for life. He believed in living in the moment and doing whatever made him happy. But, then again, Manvi made him happy; so unbelievably happy that he could not think about staying away from her now. Is this temporary or permanent, only time can tell, he thought.

"One step at a time buddy" he said assuringly more to himself than to Rahul.

Manvi was waiting for him since the last one hour; no sign of him. She had asked all her friends to leave. Finally Virat showed up, but he rode past her and stopped before a couple of guys whom he saw were ogling at Manvi and laughing. He got down his bike and walked towards them angrily.

"Like what you see?" he asked as they looked at him puzzled. Virat looks very scary when he is angry. Manvi ran towards them as he saw Virat slapping those guys left and right.

"Virat, what's wrong with you? They are my classmates." she tried to hold him back.

"Kya? These jokers are in your class?"

"I see you guys anywhere near her again, I will make sure you are suspended from the program forever. Do you understand?" he threatened lifting one of them up, holding his collar.

"Virat, chodo, let's go. They didn't say a single word to me. Why are you getting so upset." She dragged him away.

They were sitting in a restaurant, she was trying to cheer him up with no luck.

"Virat, why is your mood so off? If you were so concerned you should have come on time." She said annoyed.

"Manvi, you need to be alert and you should look around you. What if I am not here? tab kya hoga?"

"Why won't you be here?" she asked him puzzled.

"No, that's not what I meant, I can't be with you all the time right? You always need to be alert, especially in today's world, you never know what kind of a psycho is standing beside you." he told her in a concerned tone.

"Fine, I will be alert. But you will always be there with me right?" she asked holding his arm and looking at him lovingly.

He looked into her innocent eyes "Ofcourse baby" he smiled and looked away. "Manvi, I know this is probably a bad time to tell you but our batch is being sent to a medical camp for two weeks. Rahul is going with me. Priya will be here. I don't know, will you be able to stay by yourself?" he asked.

"What? You are going away for two weeks???? You are saying it as if you are going to the grocery store? Why didn't you tell me before?" She asked, her heart sank. 'Two weeks?' she thought worried. "Virat, I can't stay without you for a single day and you are leaving for two weeks?" Her eyes were starting to fill up.

"I don't know, it slipped my mind I guess." The pain in her eyes was starting to scare him. He didn't do well with people clinging to him. "Manvi, two weeks will be over, before you know it and you will be busy with college." He said putting his hand on hers.

"When do you leave?" she asked.

"Next week" he replied.
