"Tickets" I showed them off to my siblings as if they were the most costly gift anyone can get from me. "Diii'" shrieked my younger brother looking at the tickets. I rolled my eyes at him...
"Dabba haven't you seen a ticket in your life before" I smacked him on his head and sat next to him cuddling him in a hug. His eyes kept drifting to the tickets that lay on the table.
"Di you kept your promise; very strange! What's cooking in your head? Asked my older brother examining the tickets as if he would get an answer to his question. I laughed heartily looking at their faces.
"I always keep my promises" I replied flipping my hair. "Besides when I haven't" I jumped on the sofa as they both sat beside me.
"Which movie is it by the way" asked Ankush, my older brother spying the tickets that lay on the table suspiciously. "Student of the Year" I said dreamily hugging the pillow to my heart assuming it to be Varun.
"Noo" both shrieked in unison grabbing the tickets and trying to tear them up. I glared at them as they were about to tear them. "Dii spare me, I would really go mad if I see that movie one more time, the dialogues, songs everything keeps ringing in my ear till now the last time we saw the movie" Anks replied pleading not to take him to the evening show. I squinted my eyes at him, sure you try to escape see what I do now.
"I thought of asking mom for money, remember you asked for money to buy a present for your girl friend...but it seems she won't give, I do save from my pocket money sometimes but it's fit this time..." before I could complete my sentence he butted in.."What I am saying is, I have a really important assignment to complete. But don't worry you can take Dabba, he's free now". Dabba who was till now a mute spectator turned towards me and tried finding an excuse to escape from my new obsession.
"Dabbe mere bhai! I gushed in excitement dreaming about Varun getting from the swimming pool dripped in water as hot as ever. "Di...I...I...he stuttered looking at my cheery face.
"I know you love me Dabbe, you don't need to say that often" I caught him in a rib-breaking hug laughing at his confused face.
"C'mon you three, have lunch now" mom called out three of us for dinner. I brushed past the thoughts of catching the movie as soon as the aroma of paneer passed my nostrils. Both of my brothers dodged on the food as hungry dogs.
"Leave something for me, I have an appetite too" I said looking at the way they were munching on the food. "Di, what do girls like, I mean what does a girl expects from a boy?" my brother Anks asked me the most obvious question I like answering. "She likes a man, man in the sense not a version of him but a real MAN. Girls want boys to listen to whatever crap they say even if you are not interested, they like punching you when they get angry, they like putting the blame over your head when something goes wrong, you should be the first one to apologize every time when something goes wrong an..Before I could complete Anks stopped me joining his hands.
"Di It is my biggest mistake to ask you" he replied munching on the food non-chillingly. Just then when I opened my mouth to counter back my mom appeared from nowhere. I made myself ready to listen to a lecture from her. Both of my brothers twisted their faces looking at my mom's expression. Time for a lecture now!
"Eat slow you three, look at the children these days" she gave a wondering expression to which we three sighed. "Mom I'm not a child anymore I have a girl friend you see, yeah Dabba is the one who still watches cartoons" Anks laughed at dabba, whilst Dabba fumed in anger, nothing more than that. Anks and I fell into a fit of giggles looking at Dabba's expression. The poor one who always had to become a bakra of our pranks. When something goes wrong we both put the blame over his head.
