Part Five - The Kidnapping Special Part Three

"There's no way I'm letting you go alone!"

"RK! I have to go. It's a life or death situation for our daughter. I'm not risking that!"

"I'm not saying risking it! I'm saying, I'm comi…"

RK's phone rang as he spoke; he looked down at the phone in his hands and recognized the Private Name Private Caller.

"Hello…"

"Ah Mr. Kundra! If you'd like to accompany your wife, I'd be more than happy to greet you as well. Just make sure I don't have to greet the police, or else your beautiful baby girl…well, you know what I mean. I'll see you soon Kundras," the caller chuckled wickedly.

RK removed the phone from his ear and stared at it with confusion.

"Who was it RK?"

"He told me to come with you…"

"RK. Don't lie to me!"

"I'm not…how'd he know I wanted to come with you…"

"I don't know. But I'm not waiting any longer. If you're coming, then come RK."

RK and Madhu rushed to their car and sat in. RK drove towards the abandoned building they had been instructed to go to.

They stepped out of their car and slowly walked into the abandoned building.

RK and Madhu kept their fingers interlocked as they cautiously stepped further into the building.

As the building got darker and darker, Madhu's grip on RK's hand got tighter and tighter.

Eventually they reached a crib. Madhu and RK ran full speed towards the crib, only to find it empty.

"Looking for someone?" a female voice asked.

RK and Madhu turned to only see a familiar female's silhouette in the dark. With each step she took towards them, she became visible.

"PREITY?!" Madhu screamed in shock as she realized it was her new sister-in-law.

RK went silent with shock as he stared at Maya held in one of Preity's arms and a gun in Preity's free hand.

"Nope."

RK and Madhu squinted as they heard a familiar manly voice. The voice of the man on the phone.

As a manly figure stepped into the light, Madhu's eyes widened as she placed her hands to her mouth in shock.

"Sikander?!" RK asked in shock.

Sikky raised a gun and pointed it towards Maya.

"Hand over Madhu, or else the child dies," Sikky switched back to his real voice but spoke in a serious tone.

Madhu and RK stood shocked, staring at a completely different Sikky than they had encountered back at home everyday.

"Why Sikky?" RK asked still in shock.

"Oh right, I meant to give you a reason."

Sikky laughed to himself and grabbed Maya from Preity's arms. He began to coo as RK put out his arm in a protective way. He couldn't reach her, not with the distance they stood away from Sikky.

Sikky looked up at RK and Madhu with a smile and then let the smile turn into a wicked look.

"I didn't know you were so stupid RK. My father's the one always telling me I have no 'akal'. Then there's you. How did you not realize that the pictures came after Dipali's disappearance? How could you not put two and two together?"

"Sik…"

"YOU RUINED MY LIFE, YOU FOOL. First you make Dipali fall in love with you…" Sikky's voice began to raise, "then you kick her out as if she means nothing to me?!"

"Sikky, liste…"

"NO. I'M NOT DONE. On top of that, you refuse to claim her dead body and say she's not family?! You listen to me, you little ba*tard. You put me through the misery of taking my life away from me. Now I plan on taking away your life from you. But I won't be as evil as you. Nope. I'll be kinder…" Sikky put on a sly smile.

RK and Madhu stood staring at Sikky with stunned expressions on their faces.

RK wanted to tackle Sikky but couldn't due to Maya being in his hands.

RK watched as Sikky passed Maya back to Preity and then made a gesture towards Madhu to go to him.

RK began to walk towards Sikky with Madhu crying in his arms.

"Don't even try to pull a move on me, or else both your daughter and wife will die."

RK stopped in his tracks, feeling helpless he watched as Madhu walked towards danger.

Madhu gave Preity pleading eyes as she walked towards Sikky.

Just as Madhu reached Sikky, he grabbed her arm and pulled her in front of him. She faced her husband as Sikky stood directly behind her and held a gun to her head.

RK watched as Preity held a gun to his daughter and Sikky held one to his wife.

"Sikky, please, jus…"

"SHUT UP! Not another word. Or one of my beautiful family members will have to pay the price."

RK went silent as tears began to fall from his eyes.

"Now, I did say I'd be kinder than you were to me. I've decided that I'll let you keep one. Now the choice is yours. Who will it be? Your beautiful wife…" Sikky ran his gun down Madhu's neck as she flinched away from the touch, "or your beautiful baby girl? You've got two minutes to make up your mind."

"SIKKY! I CAN'T PICK BETW…"

"Okay then, let me put it this way, if you don't pick within two minutes, you'll lose both of them."

RK fell to his knees and stared at the loves of his life.

"Two minutes, starting now."

"Pick Maya, RK!" Madhu screamed out to him.

In the next second, Madhu felt a blow to her head, "SHUT UP, I didn't say you could speak! Let the man decide for himself," Sikky screamed out to Madhu who held her head down in pain.

As RK saw Sikky punch Madhu's head, he rose and screamed, "DON'T HURT HER!"

"ONE MINUTE!" Sikky reduced the time.

RK panicked, he looked towards his wife. She gestured towards Maya silently with her eyes. RK looked towards Maya and then back towards Madhu. He went back and forth for a few seconds.

He looked back towards Madhu who looked at him and mouthed the words I love you to him. She closed her eyes.

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4…"

*BOOM*

Madhu screamed and RK put his hands over his eyes as he fell to his knees. RK figured Sikky had shot Madhu as he heard the sound of the gun.

RK heard the sound of Maya crying and slowly raised his head to look at the horrific scene in front of him.

There lay…Sikky on the ground, with a bullet wound to the head.

RK rubbed his eyes and stared straight with utter disbelief.

He looked towards Madhu who was slowly opening her eyes to look towards her daughter.

As Madhu saw Sikky on the ground bleeding, she stood and ran towards her daughter.

Madhu grabbed Maya out of Preity's arms and cried. She balled her eyes out as she kissed her daughter.

RK ran towards them in tears and placed his arms around the both of them.

"Oh god, oh god…" he repeated as his heart beat faster than it ever had before.

As Madhu and RK were hit with the sudden realization that Preity was still present, they turned their heads to look at her.

She stared at them with a look full of regret.

"I'm sorry…I didn't know…I thought he loved me. I fell for it. He told me he'd give me all the happiness in the world if I helped him…I didn't know it was revenge…I'm sorry," she fell to her knees and balled her eyes out.

"Thank you Preity," RK spoke appreciatively.

Preity turned her head to stare up at RK as Madhu kept a tight hold on Maya.

"Thank you, for saving my life…my lives," RK turned to look at Madhu and Maya, "But…you may have to go to jail…"

"I understand. I understand. I'd rather spend the rest of my life in jail than out in the real world, knowing I made myself a widow. You two leave, run, before the police come. Just go. Please."

RK looked at Preity and then grabbed Madhu's hand as he kept his eye on the girl with the gun. He ran full speed with Madhu out of the abandoned building where he almost lost the loves of his life.
