whoever she was disha 77 we should remember we are here even though she has left ,hope she comes back and clears the matters up.

I-F is a part of the e-world that is a world something we don't know anyhtig ,hope we could come toknow everything easily.even in real life we are not able to find out what's going on in teh person's mind who is sanding right infront of u ,in that case how do u expect a better thing in this cyber world.

ashish claims to be victim of impersonifcation, what's so great even i was , and the situation was worst because it reala dn cyber both combined

It is thing that took place two years back when i ahd jusy\t come back from teh hostel , i got registered post in my naem ,noone was in he house that day,my dad out of country my mom in office ,

the post was from the head of a country(name cannot be disclosed) from the african sub-continent, when i first saw it ,i checked out was it for my dad or me?...it was for me.............YES it was from the country from where it claimed to be

the letter said the the presidentiail family is under threat and the rebbilons may kill tehm ,so they r forced to fled away to unknow destianation , their main concern was regading the money in their account which around some crores (pounds) , and in the whole world they trusted me the most and wanted to keep it in my account , so wanted my permision

it had the governmnet official seal(president's office), the name of the president(his sign!)(name was true and yes his life in threat as per internatioanl news then)

i told it to my dad over the phone,as usual my dad shouted me for joking ,which was not doing.nearly a week after my dad came to bangalore he checked the post he was shocked every bloody thing appeared genuine

my dad checked out the stamps with the postal department -they were true ,the placefrom which it came -true, finally he spoke tothe indian embassy there -guess what nothing like that had taken place,

finally it was found out the govt seal was scaned through computer and the sign of the president's sign forged!

during this time i was not regular over the internet!

you are right twine..

I talked to myself in one of the forum... hahahha

I've been using memsaab as my id since 1995. It was a nickname given to me by my first net friend. He was a crazy fan of Amitabh Bacchan and for some reason, he would call me his memsaab like in Muqaddar Ka Sikandar Big B called Raakhi.. no affair nah.. he is still a good friend is now married hihihii so I started using this login id..

In one of the forum, I used to talk to most of the people, and they would rely on me talking about their personal problems not because they were loosers but because they needed to speak out to somebody they could trust on. At times there are stuff you can't tell your family members and close friends but you feel easy to talk to your friends on net. Maybe because you would hardly meet this person and will not be ashamed or embarassed. At that time I was back in my country and internet was not much accessible.

somebody started loggin in as memsaab. As the site had no password requirement to login. some people talked to this fake memsaab. This fake memsaab used to login from Singapore and had different IP address which was visible in that forum. Somebody suspected and emailed me in my office email address about it. I logged on in a different name using a proxy server through my friend's account (who was a moderator and only they required password and my friends trusted me enough to give their moderator login ID and password), and talked to this fake memsaab. Not only this guy knew stuff about me but was flirting with two guys on the net. so.. I wrote email to all the friends I had made in that forum and it was goodbye from that forum and chats for me...

Worse things followed. I started getting lovely mails from some girls and was harassed sooooo badly.. because this guy now was open as a guy on the forum once I left that forum and started flirting with the girls and giving my office email address to them. He told them that actually Memsaab had always been a guy and loves them. He was definitely a romantic guy and knew how to patao girls...

See people steal your ID once they know even a little about you so be careful and don't be a fool..

these incidents left me with a bad impression on forums and chat rooms. It took me about 7 years to join another forum and talk and trust people on net .. and that was india-forums.

My, my, my. Really Mems and Twine that must have been some harrowing experience.

I just hope our younger folks in this forum read your article and learn something from it. Please don't be too trusting and give away your personal details to anyone on the net. Chatting on a casual basis is okay but please don't give out your email ids, addresses or contact numbers to just about anyone. I know, today's world is a fast one and the teens of today are much smarter than their counterparts of say 10 to 20 years back. But the dangers are also that much more than it was there before. So all of you Bachke rehana re baba, okay?

memsaab/twine have no words about ur experience..........but i guess it happends often & 1 should just be careful & b selective as to who u reveal things to.............

well i myself being an extrememly private person never joined any forum/club etc on the net.............infact for years i only used the net to access my mail & obtain info for work purposes.............then 1 of my best buddies emigrated to portugal thats when i first signed on 1 of the chat sites so that i could chat to her............

after that I came across IF & SURPRISED myself by joining...............infact i used to enter the IF site since november last year just to read about TD & only officially signed up in march this year.............its just that i am very wary about these things............

but thus far i have enjoyed every moment on IF & am hoping it continues to stay that way............afterall i have chatted to some wonderful people here & even managed to meet 1 of them..........

so i think its upto us to make this experience worthwhile..........

Please read this message carefully. It is for everybody in all age group.

These are all spams are rather famous as "NIGERIA SPAMS". Just type NIGERIA SPAM in google and search and read the articles carefully. You may be a target without any notice. Be very careful. Do not believe any of these "high amount risk accounts, or sympathize with the tragedy, or urgency" emails or postal mails. This has led to several people losing every penny in their account, home, property and some have lost their lives too.

PLEASE GOOGLE AND BE EDUCATED ABOUT THESE SPAMS.
