Just one comment on this - am reading the book and the Jai/Bani combo is the Curt Ivory/Honora pairing in the book.

According to the book (so far I have read around half), Curt and Honora are very much in love, together. The ONS was not even a ONS - it was a few seconds of lust (but in the book they did go all the way). But the main difference from what they have shown to date is that the Pia character (Crystal in the book) HATES Curt. She seduced him out of anger because she is angry that he took her sisters away from her. So Pia's turning negative is more or less in line with the book. And unfortunately in the book, Crystal does have a child, while Honora is unable to have a child.

The slight difference is that the Rano character (the younger sister) is actually probably Rashi in the series - we've seen the beginnings of it in the episode where Bani tells folks that Rashi was abused.

But where the book and the series divide is that so far, the Curt/Honora (Jai/Bani) couple are very much together facing everything together. Haven't reached the part where she finds out about the lust thing, but they are the central figures in the book and all the other couples revolve around them. Why Ekta is putting us through so much pain when her inspiration doesn't is beyond me.

Ya at times I wish she would directly copy the book, and then there are times when I'm glad she didn't copy the book, but hopefully when u finish reading it u enjoy the ending!!!

I recently read the book. There are some similarities between the characters in the book and Kasamh Se.

The three sisters and the father part are based on the book. Honora the older sister, Crystal the middle sister and Joycelene the youngest and the father - with alcohal prolems move from England to SFO in 1940s. The rich man is their Uncle, in his 40s, by marriage, their mother and his wife are sisters, both of whom have deceased.

Curt Ivory is a orphan brought up the uncle who is a flurt till he becomes serious with Honora. Honora and Curt's relationship is not accepted by the uncle who disowns them. They marry in Reno and settle down in LA.

Curt has to go to mid east to get a job to make ends meet, when Honora figures out that she is pregnant. She doen not want to let Curt know about it as his project is important, she will have a still birth and is declared never to have any kids in the future.

Crystal marries the Uncle for luxurious life, she will have 1 child from him. Curt establishes and succeds to be a very rich businessman in LA. She meets Curt in a party in SFO, she has harbored very hard feelings towards him, thinks that he has used his sister and deserted her. They encounter each other in hatred and end up making out. Otherwise curt has been faithful to Honora till they break up about 25 years later when Honora comes to know about Crystal having a 25 y/o son from Curt.

Honora leaves Curt with Joyce's daughter whom they had adopted, moves to England for about 4-5 years, making a living of her own, inspite of the wealth of Curt. 5 years later she returns to Curt to help him out in a sticky business situation and realises she does not have a life without Curt. They make -up.

In an assasignation plot, Curt's Son dies and CUrt is injured trying to save him. Honora comes to know that she is Pregnant( she will be about 50 y/o). The three sisters will get together with the merger of Curt's and Crystal's company. Honora has accepted and forgiven Curt and Crystal.

So, there is minimal resemblence b/w the book and KS except for the 3 sisters part. In the book, father of the sisters is still alive.

I agree that Jai Walia resembles Jane Austin's Heroes - rich, arrogent, yet family oriented, caring person.
