"It's my bloody damn birthday, MY BLOODY DAMN BIRTHDAY" Fiza cursed angrily as she walked into Caf Coffee Day for her afternoon break.

"My bloody damn birthday and I am working my butt of for that Godzilla aargh" she cursed again.

She strode over to the counter and in the same tone ordered her coffee and snack. Striding over to a table she sat down heavily, throwing her bag onto the table and pulled off her heels. She noticed the man sitting on the table opposite her glaring.

"What?" she shot at him

"It would be helpful if you didn't break the earth with your heels while walking" he told her in an irritated tone.

"My heels, my leg my wish" she replied back "Off course how would you understand, you are THE BOSS right?" Fiza drew quotation marks in the air.

"What?" the man asked frowning.

"Look at you , you are wearing a three piece suit, talking as if you own the world, you are definitely a boss of some big shot company who likes trample on his employees emotions" Fiza gave him a sermon.

"I am a boss but I don't trample on my employees emotions" the man replied "Because I know what it is like to be trampled on. I have bosses above me"

"Oh! So you too are a IKB" Fiza said.

"What is that?" the man asked.

"Insaan ka Bartha , that's what my boss makes out of me everyday" Fiza replied with a tortured expression.

The man laughed out and Fiza smiled. The waiter came with her order and finally feeling a little relaxed she thanked him. She saw that the man also received his order.

"Mind if I join you?" the man asked.

Fiza nodded taking a sip from her mug. She moved her bag aside to make space for his plate and mug

"Wow this is always a relief" she relished in the taste of coffee, closing her eyes "Right na? she opened her eyes and smiled at the man.

"Sure it is, so is this your stress buster place?" the man asked conversationally while eating

"Yeah and also the place nearest to my office, Gujral Enterprises" Fiza replied, eating a piece of her pastry.

"You hate your boss's guts I guess" the man smiled at her.

"Don't get me started. That man is the male version of Miranda Priestly in Devil Wears Prada. How I wish to strangle him" Fiza showed the action with her hands.

"I guess you work for Ravi Gujral, the head of the Gujral's Fashion Magazine Catharsis" the man said.

"None in the city who doesn't know that RG" Fiza concurred.

"Honestly, Fashion bores me" the man said.

"Coming from a man wearing an Armaani suit" Fiza said with a smirk.

"Oh this! It's a gift from my boss. On a special occasion" the man said.

"Your boss gifted you an Armani" Fiza gaped at the man, eyes the size of dinner plates.

The man chuckled saying "My boss is also my friend, so yes"

"You are so lucky. My boss , scratch that, Godzilla didn't give me half day off for my birthday. Imagine that" Fiza said glumly.

"Oh it's your birthday which is why you are so cranky. Honestly does birthdays matter this much?" the man asked.

"Yes! It does" Fiza said loudly. She glanced around mollified " Look these birthdays, anniversaries are all memories and memories are what you will have in old age. These days are family and friends time, one day for them or with them from your busy life. If you need people in your life these days will help in that. Not that you can't give any other day to them, you should in fact. But these days they are just sort of special" she finished with a happy look in her eyes.

"Wow! That was touching" the man said looking impressed.

Fiza smiled and for a while both were silent , busy with their food.

Fiza glanced at her watch.

"Damn! I have to go. Back to Godzilla" Fiza stood up wiping her mouth "Thanks for the company. It was good talking to you"

The man too stood up.

"Same here and if your Godzilla as you say" They both laughed "Gives you too much trouble, I may be able to help you. You can meet me here in the afternoon, I will be coming here on most days" he said.

"Thanks, but I don't think you can" Fiza replied while both of them walked out of the shop "I mean how will you?"

"Well maybe being an Assistant Commissioner of Police I can" the man replied "ACP Sameer Rathod" the man extended his hand while Fiza gaped mouth open like a gold fish.

"Oh'I'.me'I can't believe I just spoke to an ACP" Fiza replied, her pretty face flushed red from being surprised. She shook his hand "Fiza Sharma"

"Happy Birthday Fiza" Sameer wished her "We part to meet again"

Saying this he put on his Ray bans and walked away from her giving her a parting smile.

Fiza felt happy, really happy. Somehow just that simple wish from a stranger had made her really happy.
