"Virat??" She asked rubbing her eyes, unable to believe that it was him.
"Yes it is me. I'm surprised you recognized me." He joked hugging her.
She hugged him back and bombarded him with questions, "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in Boston? How did you know where to find me?" Suddenly realization hit her, "Alex' Alex told you."
"Whoa slow down. One question at a time please." He said mockingly.
"What are you doing here?" Suddenly her tone changed and she moved away from him.
"After a nice hug this is what I get? I'm disappointed." He said shaking his head.
"Too bad, learn to live with it. Now excuse me I have a party to attend." She turned back and walked towards the party again.
"Common now don't get mad. Manvi." He called after her.
Irritated and slightly nervous because of his sudden appearance she turned back and asked him, "Why are you here?"
"Someone is in a bad mood. Kidding. Peace. I was in the city so I texted Alex. She told me you are around for New Years and I asked her your whereabouts." He tried his best to not offend her with his words.
She still looked at him expectantly.
"I look so hot that you can't take our eyes off me?" He asked flirtingly.
She crossed her arms across her chest, "You wish. You still didn't answer my question."
"You asked me billion questions? Which one in particular are you talking about?" He mocked her again.
"Why are you here?" She stressed each word.
"Can we walk and talk? We are getting late; everyone is at the club."
They began walking in downtown Manhattan.
"Why Virat?" She was extremely annoyed, he'd dozed her question over five times by now.
"How about I tell you after the party?" He rubbed her shoulders gently to warm her up.
"What makes you think I will be with you after the party?" She smirked and headed towards the club.
"Manvi are you mad at me?" Alex nervously asked.
Taking her sixth shot and drinking some mixed drink on the side she answered, "Yes."
"Common Manvi he wanted to see you so I just helped him out." An equally drunk Alex defended herself.
"A warning would have been nice." Manvi gulped some more alcohol.
"Chug chug chug chug." She could hear people screaming. It was her against the big fat head guy. She drank as fast as she could- her competitive side took over and all she knew at the minute was that she had to beat him.
Virat too was enjoying his time, occasionally glancing at Manvi and drinking with his friends.
"Hey buddy what brings you to New York?" One of his friends asked in between conversations.
Looking towards Manvi he casually answered, "Just need to tie up some loose ends."
Manvi was completely out of her senses when Virat approached her.
"Dude back off." Virat threatened a guy who was hovering too close to Manvi. He grabbed her wrist and dragged her out of the party.
"Virat leave my hand."
"Why are you being such a pushover?" She complained when he didn't let go of her.
"I need to talk to you."
"What makes you think that I want to talk to you?" She stubbornly questioned.
"It has been over a year Manvi. Why can't you forget the past and move on?" He brushed his hair with his hand in an attempt to calm down.
This brought all the memories back to the surface and she closed her eyes shut. "I need a drink."
"You already have enough alcohol in your system. You don't need more."
"Why can't you talk to me without being all rude and snotty?" He added.
"Maybe I would if you were decent enough to not cheat on your girlfriend." She accused.
"Correction, I did not cheat on you." He blatantly denied her accusations.
"You slept with someone else when we were dating."
"Correction again, we weren't dating then."
"But you'd already asked me out. You slept with someone else a night before our first date." She didn't want to talk about this anymore so she turned around to go back in the club but he stood in front of her.
"I apologized."
"Like that is going to help." She rolled her eyes at him.
He grabbed her by the shoulders, "You can't accuse me of something I didn't do. You have to hear me out today."
"No I won't. When I was awake all night thinking of our first date, you were busy with someone else. Even thinking about it repulses me." She tried to move but he held her tightly.
"I asked you out because you seemed different than other girls; there was something about you that drew me towards you. I was attracted to you but I wasn't in love with you. The night before our date I hooked up with a random girl. I am sorry for that but after our date I haven't even thought of anyone else. One date was enough for me to know that you are the one. I grew into you. I should have told you the truth but there was no point in it. It didn't mean anything. Then you found out the truth and the next thing I know we both graduated from high school and you left to attend school in New York." He looked into her eyes and told her everything he'd ever wanted to say.
"Why didn't you tell me this before?" She asked confused by his sudden outburst.
He chuckled without humor, "Maybe because you never wanted to listen to me?"
"Why didn't you come after me here then?" She accused.
"You really have a bad memory. I flew here every month but you were the one that didn't want to talk. Remember?" He asked with a glint of sadness in his eyes.
"I'm a bad person who is also stupid." She said drowsily.
"That you are." He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.
"No, Manvi Chaudhary is never wrong. It is still your fault." She said stubbornly.
"Whatever you say baby." He laughed at the strong headed girl; he loved her unconditionally.
He took a step closer, pinning her to the wall. He heard her moan as he traced her lips with his tongue. Manvi parted her lips to intensify the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck, "I'm never going to let you go again."
He kissed her fiercely and let his hands roam up and down her body, "Ditto."
The next morning she woke up with a severe headache and a flimsy memory of the night before. Rubbing her eyes she stretched her arms and flexed her muscles. Something didn't feel right and she abruptly opened her eyes. She stayed still at the vision; Virat lay on top of her, sleeping like a baby and a slight smile on his lips. She racked her brains trying to remember what led to this but she couldn't remember.
She pushed him away and clutched the bed sheet closer to her body. "What happened?"
He stretched his arms and yawned. "What?" He asked looking around.
"What are you doing on the same bed?" She peeked underneath the covers, "Why am I naked?"
"I don't know. I was drunk. I guess I apologized and you forgave me." He answered coolly leaning back against the headrest.
"I forgave you! Not possible." She too leaned back against the headrest.
"I am a bad person who is also stupid. Didn't you say something like that?" He mocked her and lightly pinched her nose.
She pushed his hand away and muttered, "Always a jerk."
"Egoistic stuck up'" Before he could complete his sentence she silenced him with a glare.
"Your apology doesn't count because I wasn't sober." She looked straight ahead and hinted that he was still not forgiven.
He got off the bed and walked towards her side of the bed. He bent on his knees, "I am very sorry for hurting you Manvi. I love you."
She smiled widely and pulled him onto the bed. Kissing him fiercely she said, "I love you Virat."
"Finally." He whispered before making her his all over again.

i err i wanted to update sooner but i ended up sleeping all day and i slept through the night as well. *guilty*
i will try and update few other fictions this week, thanks to my decision to stay away from alcohol as a courtesy to my liver.
P.S. no 'update soon' or 'please continue soon' because there will be no other parts for this OS.
