dkdm's treatment , presentation and story telling made people mesmerized..it can't b said just a mytho..its a novel like mytho..though later some tracks and characters were terribly distorted but it managed to make viewers glued for his family show like attitude

jjmd is hardcore mytho , jsk became an unnecessarily dragged show , dbsk was worst show on krishna till now..the old sk was good but melodramatic..

ekta's mahabharat is nothing else than nightmare..

except dkdm my most fav mytho was imagine's ASR ramayan...i will still say that show in case of popularity,presentation and story telling can give just kaante ka takkar to dkdm even today

and my childhood memory was related to brc mahaharat so never can criticize that show

hope SP bring a good mahabharat..i really want a good mahabharat and good krishna story

Mahadev has won over audience because it has been presented not in the typical mytho genre. It has emotions and drama put in very nicely. The USP is presentation which has pulled in audience of all ages. Earlier it appealed to youth because of the love story and now family audience are enjoying it.

DKDM has made up stuff too-i will NEVER deny that-but they somehow managed to get away with some of it
some things were pretty hard to digest-that i will admit

i watched DBSK and it gave me a nasty headache,but i think KHM ki takes the cake in being the worst mytho i have ever seen-My POV😆

SP as in Star Plus? Any idea who's doing it - hope not Sagars? Actually, I'd like to see a complete serial that's a blend of both Mahabharata & Krishna, very well knitted together showing parallel tracks of Hastinapur/Indraprasta and Mathura/Dwaraka. DBSK had its moments, but came unraveled very quickly.

I completely agree about DkDM. Problem is that a lot of people tend to believe that Ramanand Sagar & BRC were true to original scripts, while the modern genre of serial makers make things up. This is untrue - both RS Ramayans (78+39) as well as RS Shri Krishna & BRC Mahabharata were all over the place.

Although I've heard that ONS was true to script, but I never watched it to verify that. And after watching DkDM, I doubt that I can 😆

I agree. With DkDM, there are various sources - often conflicting - but whose roots often go back to ancient times, so it's perfectly justified to equate Shiva Purana w/ DSS, Skanda Purana, Kanda Purana, Ganesh Punanas and so on. (I've always maintained that that's different from Ramayan, where Valmiki and Vaishista were the only contemporaneous sources, while other sources were medieval and a lot less reliable.)

As a result, in this serial, one sees a blend of stories from different sources - e.g. Devasena has been shown, and in all likelihood, both Kartikeya & Ganesh will be shown marrying. Yeah, they botched a number of major events, which is tragic, but I do hope that in future, they can 'do over' such events by showing them narrated in third person (say Parvati telling Ganesh stories) and re-enacting them. Just like they showed events, like Mahadev rescuing Markandeya from Yamaraj, or Mahadev punishing Brahma for lying, they could show the Mahishashura & Shumbha-Nishumbha stories properly

Having said all that, I do think the blending could have been done better. I would have preferred it if they had shown the Surapadman story, rather than Tarakasura, and introduced them only during the interim phase b/w Shiva & Sati. Also, they should have shown more of Mahadev's solo adventures and not always made it about either Sati or Parvati; also, they should have highlighted the greatness of Parvati during her roles as Durga & Mahakali. It will be interesting to see how JJMD treats that.

We may get Shumbh, Nishumbh story in future as even Kartikeya's Kaumari shakti comes to assist Durgama in this battle.

This show is about Shivji's journey from a hermit to a house holder. so his solo adventures are too merged with Sati/ Parvati phase.

Blending could have been better but in some tracks blending is excellent eg. Parvati's chakra awakening, panchkosha part during her penance, the Tantra leson after Matsya track etc. Showing Parvati's greatness properly is a problem with them. but the way current epi. are going on Ganesh will get proper importance.

JJMD will keep on showing how different asuras are troubling Devas, Humans & Ma Durga's various forms will come to save them. It'll be about her mahima. I wish makers of DKDM would have made that show, it would have been spectacular & latest craze.
