Chapter 2

I was pleased to see her alive. I went near & she cupped my face. I didn't bend down to touch her feet , I was owing to the fact that I have been out of practice . She was more emotional than me , I was just numb. What shall I say? 'Missed you' , 'how are you' , all seems futile in front of our silence. We just stood still and stared each other , though she kept murmuring my name in between of the short breathes.

Finally i broke the awkward & intimidating silence , "How are you doing?"

With her trembling hand she caressed my scruffy hairs & brought my forehead to her lips for a warm moist kiss.

"I really missed you Aarti."

"I missed you too bebe &--" , I had a lot to say , but she interrupted me.

"It was a very long journey. Go to your room & have rest."

"Do I still have a room in this big house?" , I casually asked. "Bebe! Can I sleep with you?"

Her smile widened , "Yes Yes! A big Yes."

I lied on her laps & within seconds fell in a peaceful calm sleep.

"Did you sleep well?" , bebe asked me as I rubbed my eyes .

"Didn't have such peaceful sleep in so many years."

She smiled.

"Bebe! May I ask where is the owner of the house?"

"He is your father."

"Yea. Where is he? And his wife? By the way how many kids does he have?"

"You have two brothers & one sister."

"Step brothers & step sister."

"Don't say that." , her voice stuttered , "They love you."

I narrowed my eyes. "Ahaan bebe?"

She faked a light laugh then continued , "I have something to show you."

She showed me two snaps of a guy , he looked good , must be in his mid-twenties.

"Who is he?"

"Yash Kapoor. Your father has chosen him as your groom."

My anger fumed , "I'll jump off my ceiling before marrying my father's choice."

"Don't say that beta please." , she fell on my feet , pleading & crying.

"Bebe why do you do this!" , I made her stand. She started crying hysterically.

"He is a good boy Aarti. He often comes here to see me."

"Really?"

She nodded.

Why! So this was the reason I was asked to come immediately! Ridiculous. I always wanted to fall in love with world's best man. I don't want to die my mother's death--which is still a mystery for me. In any case I cant marry his choice.
