It is indeed a dilemma for a character like Viren in a situation like this where his work ethics and duty of care towards his family are at clash; for a lawyer like himself who always stands with the truth, it is now a challenging task to rise above that conflict of interest and do his job honestly while ensuring that his loved ones do not pay a price for this. On one side he has his brother who is completely innocent and on the other side, he has his wife who has plead guilty of this crime, which, regardless of the fact that it was committed under self self defence, does not negate the fact that she is indeed guilty in court of law; its higly inprobable that she would get accquital using that defence, her sentence; however, can be lessened. (Although, we have an inclination that she might not be the real culprit, so all of this won't apply then but it is not relevant as of now as I am focusing on just what we have seen in the episode today). As a lawyer, he knows that his wife is guilty and his efforts to save Virat are indirectly stating the same thing; just as we saw in the scene where Inder explicitly rephrases the similar facts.
However, coming to the actual point of the post, It was amazing to see Viren standing by Jeevika the way he did today and this just did not happen after today's episode; Viren had already believed Jeevika's verbal narration of the incident day before whereas oday's evidence merely strengthened that belief of his in her that she could never take such a drastic step if it wasn't for big enough reason like the one at hand. On a personal front, he does not find her guilty at all, in fact he respects her even after all that has happened but not only he is standing up with her behind closed doors, he is also doing the same in front of other family members and intends to do the same in court of law. On one hand he regrets not reading the cues before hand that could have avoided this mess and on other hand also guilty for putting Jeevika through all this by herself.
"Love recognizes, accepts, and overlook imperfections and it further deepens the love for one who graciously accept your faults"- Viren did just that; although writers could have portrayed him like a typical male figure who would have refused to listen to his wife and misunderstandings would have cropped up until the very end when facts would have disclosed, but writers opted for this keeping the character of Viren intact- perhaps him being the lawyer plays a role in this as he sees both sides of the coin. We had seen this earlier when Viren refused to believe Manvi after she declined to donate blood to Jeevika; he had seen and accepted things at their face value but later was in a big shock when he exposed to the bitter reality. But even then, his intentions were clear and his love for Jeevika was apparent as she mattered the most to him, and today it is the same case.
He recognizes the conditions that led Jeevika to act the way she did, accepts her guilt, yet overlooks her imperfections which are only for world and law to see as for him, she is perfect. It is said only god stands by your faults and accepts you for who you because human tendency is to pick flaws of others and leave them stranded at the time of need; however, for Jeevika, Viren became that "god" who embraced her with all imperfections!!!
