Chapter 8

Manyata was in a bad mood😡 that morning. She was literally screaming at her chief bodyguard Rajat rathode. The place of meeting was a small store room in the ground floor. Her office was no longer safe for a private conversation as it was bugged.

Rajat was her most trusted guard, he was the best in this work , he never ever let her down

M: its 3 weeks since the investigation stared and yet you couldn't unmask that killer, or are you waiting to see me dead before you catch that killer

Ra: mam, pls let me explain give me one more week I will unmask that killer and also that traitor in your family. All that we know is that he is a true professional named mr shark

M: mr shark?😲

R: yes mam a true professional, he has a lot of assassinations to his credit

M: then why is that you don't know about his identity?

R: mam, he is too intelligent, he never leaves a single evidence back, he is literally a ghost, no one sees him only his victims, he never leaves even a hair unattended, he could be anyone from a street fighter to a sophisticated gentleman moving among our midst unknown to all ' a true criminal mind

but I will unmask him. He will be brought in front of law.

M: could it be a she rather than a he?

R: it could be, but iam sure mr shark is a man. Mam pls give me week to unmask him

But before handing him to law I will teach him a lesson he will never forget

M: I know you are very efficient , iam sorry for my rude behavior, I just couldn't accept defeat

R: mam should not we remove that buggers from your office

M: no, that will make him aware that we found out about it and then we woudnt have much time left. But rajat remember nobody should know about this work . not even the other guards, we do not know who is friend and who is foe. Manyata soon returned to her cabin, it was once her favorite place. Now she hated her, it made her feel insecure .the cabin made her feel that the eyes of an unknown assassin was following her, listening to her talks like a SHADOW, a dreaded one.

She remembered the day when she learnt about her planned assassination

Three weeks back as she was checking her company files she saw that there was withdrawal of 3 crore from her family account

The sum made her feel uncomfortable, her family never took such huge amounts for anything, she found it fishy

She moved out from her office to meet rajat as he had requested her to meet privately away from her cabin

M: rajat bhai, you wanted to meet me?

R: yes mam, the problem is that your office is bugged

M: what? My office bugged?

M: then why don't you remove it?

R: mam, pls let me complete, I have received an intelligence source that someone in your family has approached an assassin to kill you

M: (shocked)what?!! My family ? is this some sick joke?

R: no mam you know iam very loyal to you, iam even ready to even sacrifice my life to save you. And this is not a joking matter . it's a matter of life and death.

M: did you tell this to anyone??

R: no mam, only to you

M: then don't even say a word to anyone

The person behind this doesn't know me properly,
(as if telling the asassin) you think iam some ordinary damsel and you can finish your job in some time , take your money and run ,then your mistaken iam a rajwada . I never was or will be scared of anybody or ant damn assassin. You may have killed many tiny ants till datebut now you will meet your match

R: ok mam

Manyata even after 3 weeks of that incident could not digest the fact that her family- the people for whom she lived wanted her dead. But why?

The answer hit her like a bolt of lightening . her dad had put all the property- both movable and immovable in her name, her family needed her signature for every thing. So they felt it was time to remove her from the picture as after her death all her properties will go to them. No she would never let it happen.

That is why she changed her will. Now after her death her family would get only 25% of the properties.and the rest would go to charity.she wanted to strip them without a cent but her heart did not allow it

But who was that person ?

Ds- no

Mama- no

Dad- no

Jai- never

No it was not her family , they could never do this to her. But her rational mind told her

Yes one of them wanted her dead. She now never wanted to spend anytime with her family now

Now she spend her time with UDAY ' uday he was so sweet, too good to be true

Somebody knocked her door and she came out from her thoughts

Chapter 9

It was uday

M: think of the devil and here he is

U: so someone was busy thinking about me eh?

Manyata blushed hearing that comment😳

M: so what brings you here?

U: princess do you have some short term memory loss or something? Did not I tell you we were to visit the site for the school today?

M: oh I forgot , I was a bit busy

U: thinking about me (he completes the sentence)

M: what

U: just joking dear, so shall we leave?

M: yes

Uday led her to his car. The driver opened the door for them

M: new car eh?

U: yes the old one is damaged beyond repair after that accident

M: oh I see

The driver starts the car. Uday was reading the newspaper. Manyata was looking out of the window

Uday speaks with disgust😲

U: oh does today's world have any humanity. Seethe headlines , a man was hacked to dead and body was left in the car under that suspension bridge in that forest down there. Three boys who had gone for a picnic saw this and informed the police , the forensics estimate the body is about 2 weeks old ,it had started to decay

M: even hate medias attitude. I don't even read the newspaper nowadays . it is just killing suicide and others

U: I agree

Manyata thought what sort of death did her assassin plan for her?

She imagined the headlines

"royal blood lost- heir of devgarh properties assassinated"

U: princess, is something bothering you?

M: no, she lied

They reached the site in about 1 hours . it was followed by discussions with the builders and other people related with the building. Time flew away and it soom became too late

M: uday can you suggest any hotel in this region where I can spend the night, it is too late to return home

U: no princess, the nearest hotel is in Mumbai. If you don't mind you can spend the night in my home. Its just 5 km from here

M: after much thought , ok

Uday's house was a miniature palace . it was a modern structure yet it had the eligence of a Indian home.

U: home sweet home, so princess you liked my home

M: yes its beautiful,I just love its design

U: it was my plan dear

The house was well furnished , but it strangely looked empty

M: you live here alone?

U: no there are servants here but today is their off day. Make yourself comfortable princess

Uday goes and fixes a drink for himself and manyata

As they drink they begin to talk more freely

M: uday your family?

U: my family was killed when I was 16 years(the anger was clearly visible in his eyes)

My dad, my mom and my little sis killed by underworld dons .only I escaped as I was not present. God why iam I still alive(his sound started to crack)

M: I am so sorry uday I should not have asked about it

U: its ok

M: you must have loved them a lot. I have a

Manyata stops her dialogue, she did not want to tell him about her family

Uday soon gets up and puts some soft music

U: princess will you dance with me

Manyata and uday were a bit drunk so they start dancing first maintaining a distance between their bodies soon they came closer and closer

They were so close that their bodies were not two but one

Soon it ended in a very passionate kiss . they just didn't stop they continued to kiss each other in all available places soon both were breathless they continued to hug each other

M: I love you uday , I love you so much ,I want you to my life partner

U: (suddenly came to his senses) I am sorry princess but I cant

M:(teary) why uday?

U: pls princess I just cant

Manyata breaks the hug and says

M: I think I should go to sleep

Her tone showed its sorrow

Manyata soon went to her room , she just couldn't accept that truth, she cried and fell asleep

Uday too could not sleep. He went into her room and saw her sleeping she looked angelic

U: princess I too love you , but I cant accept it .this relationship cannot take place

His face became hard

U: no I wont allow it to be. I have to be strong. I am soory princess

My past is not as clean as my present

Rajat has already figured out quite a lot from his investigation. At least Manyata knows about the listening device in her office and the name of the person hired to kill her. Also ... she is now aware that somebody from her OWN family is out to get her.

I like Manyata's attitude , she is ready to take on Mr Shark herself!!! It was good that she decided to change her will , but poor girl can't accept that her OWN FAMILY MEMBER is the guilty 1😔.
