I have lost count of how many memories I holdā¦
How many ghosts linger in and around meā¦
When it was that both the living and the dead started breathing life into the teak and bricks that made up my limbsā¦ or when their burdens became mineā¦ or when I became theirsā¦
I watched him nowā¦ I watched him watching them without their knowing.
His eyes were moist, but theirs remained dry. They were strong in spirit, the both of themā¦

He had to hope that for once in her life, his younger daughter would let go of her misguided loyalty and reach for her own hopes and dreamsā¦
