I still remember Lihaaf's those lines "Lihaaf kisi janwaar ki shakal ikhtiyar kar gaya... phassad phassad kar ki lihaaf ki shakal tabdeel ho gayi"
Asmat was way too bold for her time... but she had a great pulse on human' sexuality...just like saadat Hasan Manto's brutally honest short stories "thanda gosht", "shalwar" and "Tauheen' ...they depicted various sexual behaviors that affects human psyche on various levels...

does not matter what the world says, but for me Manto and Asmat were sheer genius to feel the sensitive pulse of human beings from different angles and psycho-social settings.

thnx for sharing... :)
I used to be a huge fan of the short stories of Manto, Asmat, Krishan Chandar (he was master in narrating the "backgrounds" in his stories ... u felt like his words are breathing life out of the book), Ghulam Abbas and rajinder singh bedi...
shifted to Bano qudsia and Ashfaq Ahmad (they mainly talks about parapsychology & spiritualism)

these writers really gives rich food for thought to one's emotions & perceiving the outer world

Uh Oh..I am sorry and I take my words back then..I was pretty sure I heard Bon jour and was actually surprised at Sapna not knowing that was French. Thanks for the correction 😳

People like us also include the entire team of endemol and colors because we saw what they wanted us to see. Did you wonder why that entire shot was shown over a lot of other things, like urv-nik convi for example. That looked pathetic and it was meant to be shown that way.You might want to direct this to the channel you know!

Spent some last month re-acquainting myself with Manto - he was way ahead of his times. His stories did have sexual overtones but I also think that he had an excellent way with words in bringing to life the 1940's India-Pakistan atmosphere and cities. Could see myself walking down Old Delhi streets or even the refugee camps. Amazing writer. Haven't red Ismat Chugtai in more than a decade so can't comment on her.
