Shahid Replaces Ranbir to romance Katrina

MUMBAI: After the completion of their current project 'Phata Poster Nikla Hero', Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor may be back in a Raj Kumar Santoshi film sooner than expected.

We hear the director plans to cast Shahid and Katrina Kaif in the sequel to 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' which he will make as soon as he completes his international action film next year.

Though Santoshi refrained from commenting on it, a source close to the 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' project revealed, "Both producer Ramesh Taurani and Santoshi were keen to do a sequel right after 'Ajab Prem…' released. But Ranbir Kapoor showed no interest. Santoshi got busy trying to put together other projects. Now he will return to the sequel with Shahid replacing Ranbir."

About his aborted projects last year including the proposed one with Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Santoshi says nonchalantly, "Such things happen. The movie-making business is filled with uncertainties. Yes, some projects didn't take off. And I got the tag of being a difficult director. How was I to blame for the projects not starting? Happily 'Phata Poster….' has broken the interrupted phase in my career. Now I am doing three back-to-back projects to make up for lost time."
