I'm not sure if I would characterize Rashed as "grey" -- I agree with your assessment that he is more human. I like the fact that they are showing his struggles and that tension between balancing two families. I actually really feel for his character...because the choice he made was not his own. Especially when it comes to his children - obviously he loves all his children, but he could not say Asad is his son and that there was nothing wrong in him buying the gifts for his sister's to-be-in-laws.
I think he loves both of his wives in different ways, but nothing really parallels your first love. I think Dilshad-Rashed chemistry is really amazing & I want them to reunite. I think Shireen would be understanding...if it were not for her terrible bhabhi.
One thing i am confused about, however, is why Dilshad was okay with him having a second wife? At what point did he get married to Shireen? Because the ages of the children overlap so it does seem like he stayed with Dilshad until just after Najma was a toddler...and she is about the same age as Nikhat and Nuzhat...but Ayan is older than Najma, so it's a bit confusing in that regard.
I hope they explain that one day!!
