The effect of Ahem' s disappearance or non appearance to his anniversary party could not have been more beautifully portrayed. What an episode. It left a heavy feeling in the heart but also a small smile at the amount of love that the Modis have not just for their own son but also for their daughter in law.. Who can say that Gopi is an orphan now? She has a family that will go to any end to protect her from distress. It was beautiful to see.
There have been sometimes when you have this nagging feeling about a loved one. You call them, they are unavailable. Nothing may have been wrong actually but your heart tells you otherwise. You try reaching them time and again and fail. Your heart keeps fluttering, you keep hoping that you get a call from the person, your eyes look at the door every so often and you are unable to sit still.. One second, one convinces themselves that nothing is wrong, it is just a normal delay and the next second, our heart contradicts our own statement. Have you had that feeling before? I have. And that is what Gopi went through too, today, on her anniversary.
There she was worried out of her wits not understanding why her husband was taking so long to come back to her. Her family fawned over her, trying to protect her from the worries and distress in their mind but they do not know that Gopi has her own mind that plays games with her. She is still blaming herself for her husband going to Bhuj but yet her hand moves to complete working on the collage she wants to gift him. He will come back, she thinks one minute and then hopefully goes to the silent hall to find that he has not.
With the time elapsing, her heart sinks. But she has been lied to. By her Maaji, her Kakiji and her Devar. She is told that her husband called him to inform that he was going to be late. Was Gopi convinced by Jigar's lie? She was for that moment. But by the time Koki had taken her to the room she was not so sure. Did she detect the untruth behing Koki's worried eyes? Whatever it was Gopi wanted an excuse to go back to the hall and wait for her husband. Was that request for RaJi to cut the cake just an excuse to be there? Gopi's wait continues.. So does the wait of everyone else in MM.
While the wife struggles through her despair and oscillation between hope and distress, we also get to see the other relationships.. all related to Ahem in one way or the other react to his disappearance.
Jigar - The sensitive brother who seems to be giving up hope. Jigar was very distressed and almost in tears as his search with Aman failed one after the other. Jigar is a good man but he is too sensitive. You can see him worry almost immediately. By the third place they searched, Jigar was almost in tears when he called Chirag. He is also the first one to suggest a kidnap. But he made the best suggestion till then, call the police. And also his white lie to Gopi as he smiled through his tears was touching😭 Jigar rose up to the occasion and helped his Kaki keep Gopi from worrying for atleast that night. The time is not there yet for tears. It can wait. Jigar will certainly raise up to the occasion⭐️
Koki - Aww.. What can I say?😕 How can a mother be this much in control? She can because she is a mother. She knows that if she breaks so do the others who need her strength. Koki's love for Ahem shined through the episode. More so her love for Gopi😳 The kindly suggestion asking Gopi to call Ahem in order to pacify her led way to more distress as Ahem's phone is switched off. As the tension mounts, Koki sees clearly that Gopi is in no condition to worry herself. She is almost ready to deliver her baby and her health is as important as it is finding Ahem.
The smart move of sending the next most emotional person in the house, Hetal with Gopi was fantastic👏 Koki then stands tall, assuring others that Ahem would be alright. A mother's heart tells her that he is fine and she is confident. She does not burst into tears as the search becomes futile. She is moved but she still thinks. She wants to understand what Aman means about business rivalry. Instead of being the person who needs support, Koki stands up and gives support to the panicked atmosphere. She cannot immediately accept that Ahem may have been kidnapped but she will not have a choice.
In all this, Gopi remains in the back of her mind all the time. What a mother👏 The stern instruction, taking Gopi back to her room, the confidence with which she said both couples would cut the anniversary cake together but the insecurity and worry that clouded her face as she spoke half truths to a heavily pregnant DIL about her own son.. What is going on in Koki's mind. Is she praying for Ahem's safe return? Praying for making Gopi strong ? Praying for her own strength to face any situation that may arise? Whatever it is, Koki was at her best today. The woman with strength⭐️
Mota Bhai and Mota Bhabhi - Hetal panicked.. Very soon but she was also Koki's strength when it required of her. She took Gopi to her room, made her drink milk and assured the child about Ahem. She loves Ahem as her own son. You can see her worry and distress at his non appearance. Hetal is a mother and she proved that again today. She was a mother to Gopi too.. calling out to her, asking her to rest. A SIL and a mother, Hetal played her role.
Mota Bhai also though worried, made his contribution. He is a businessman. He sees the worst and plans for it. He wants Gopi to be aware of what they are discussing. Maybe he is right. But Koki cannot see Gopi distressed and maybe she has this tiny hope that this is all just a scare and Ahem will return during the night? Chirag is overruled but I do not think he minded today.
Baa, Kinjal, Dhawal all played their role. Kinjal's worry was evident. She wanted to discuss with Dhawal only to sink into her own jealousy as Falguni called him. Dhawal on the other hand not just assured Gopi like her own brother but also helped Parag call Ahem's friends. They worked in tandem. This was the ground team. The silent workers who are trying their best to see if there is ray of hope somewhere..
The entire Modi house albeit two people are worried for Ahem. Aman, Ahem's friend was also ok. Except for the call initially during the episode that we are not shown, he did his part in searching and did not look sinister. But he also made suggestions that makes him a suspect, like talking of business rivalry, like insisting on accompanying Jigar. What is he upto?🤔
While every person mentioned above had worry and distress, two other people did too. They worried about games, missing the fun in the anniversary, eating the cake and on the whole showed us the difference between a family and a non family member. I thought Rashi was better than this.
I do not even care about her complaint that she is not able to celebrate the anniversary. Fine. She expected to have fun and a massage gone wrong and the missing elder son of the family has ruined that for her. At that time she may have felt that Ahem had just forgotten to call home and the people were worried for no reason. But even after Jigar mentioned kidnap and there was no news of Ahem anywhere, she was more worried about the cake than her sisters husband? FOr all we know, Ahem may be no more😕 Does that not affect her a tiny bit? She has been a DIL in this family for the past 2.5 years and she also knows that this family has cared for her and loved her.
The man missing once helped rescue her from her kidnappers. Is Rashi that callous about her relationships? I did not know. I expected nothing else from Urmi but Rashi disappointed me big time, even in her standards🤢
An emotional episode. The distress is only going to get worse. An overnight vigil I think. .the run to the door on hearing the bell showed just how much the Modis are worried. It looks like it is not Ahem at the door though. May most probably be Rashi and her mom, gone out to have fun and then caught returning back😊 Lets see.. I like the way the track has started. Amazing work by the CVs👏
